Had a little trouble getting the screw holes to line up with the threaded holes on the distributor but I eventually got it.working fine so far. Extra ground wire on this one compared to the original.

I changed this out on a 1989 Mercruiser 5.7l Wellcraft engine. The oem had 2 screw terminals, one was red/white and one had (2) green/white wires. New one has a G/W wire, a R/w wire and a ground. On the OEM, there is a separate ground wire that is connected to the bottom of the distributor. The ground screw shares the same hole that the sensor uses for the left screw. So the ground is screwed in from the bottom and the sensor is screwed in from the top. The ground secret needs removed and the ground needs relocated, I relocated mine to the coil bracket hold down bolts. There the new sensor ground needs attached to the bell housing main engine block bolt. Usually located on the far back right of the engine. Then the r/w to r/w and the g/w to the other 2 g/w wires. I used their instructions and bolted the 2 and 3 wires together, if I had to of it again I would just use clip in terminals. Or solder and heat shrink. But for not its working. Hope this helps as it is confusing on the old ground and the new ground.
