The glue is too hard to get out, and the sponge tip dries out quickly. It says to run warm water over it. But then I'm assuming that it's the moisture from the water on the tip that's sealing the envelope, and not the glue inside. I think this a good concept because most people don't like licking envelopes. But the glue should come out more easily.

I first forgot dab and go I was trying to press down and slide it across the adhesive and it wasnt working at all. Then I realized the problemvand was just dabbing it and I still had a hard time getting it to work. Sometimes I would have to go over the adhesive 3-4 time to finally get anything to come out. I like the purpose of them. I just don't like how difficult to they are to get anything out of them.

I wanted to like these as an alternative to licking envelopes at work. The pens are too much hassle. You have to do a test run to get the liquid out and even then squeeze harder than necessary to get barely anything out and hope it sticks. I will be looking for something else to use instead.

Works okay.. but the adhesive is on dry side so you have to run across envelope a few times (still better than licking them though! 😜)

I had one of these years ago that I picked up at an office supply store for a few dollars. Was great and used it regularly for 7 years and then lost it. I hate licking envelopes so tried a few other styles that were ok, but often left the envelope wet. I found this on Amazon and so glad I did! So basically what I do with this is run it under water about 2-3 minutes, cap it and then when I need it, use it, no wet envelope, recap, reuse, etc. Once it is too dry to use, repeat running under water a few minutes. A tip - if you run it under water and plan to use it right then, get a paper towel or napkin and dab it on that a few times so it's not dripping wet. Tried that with the others I used and it was still dripping wet, but works well with this one.

Astonishingly, this "moistener" pen actually undid and stripped the adhesive from the envelopes we tested it on. Good thing we didn't start sealing up the wedding invites with it! I don't know if was the particular envelope adhesive or just this product, but not sure how I feel about having paid money for something that had the OPPOSITE of its intended effect. I tossed them all the minute the test envelope popped open on the counter - before the kettle had boiled.
