The Quaking Aspen is a beautiful, useful, and historically important species that can be cultivated virtually anywhere — including your yard, garden, deck, or patio — and is a cherished icon of North America's high country. Populus tremuloides, also known as Golden Aspen, Quaking Poplar, and Small-toothed Aspen, makes its glowing presence known throughout all the great Mountain systems of the United States and Canada, and even ranges down into the mountain ranges of Mexico.
A member of the willow family, Aspen is the most widespread tree on the North American continent, yet its beauty is anything but common. In autumn, Aspens are nothing less than stunning — gilded with brilliant golden leaves, perpetually trembling and splashing sunlight in every direction. Aspens are fast growers, and can survive almost anywhere — so long as they get ample sunlight. Aspens typically grow to around 80 feet in height, and usually live for about a century.
Aspens are typically smallish trees, around 40 feet tall with trunk diameters under two feet across. Their trembling, ever-moving leaves are pale green in spring and summer, burnishing to radiant gold in autumn. Aspen bark is smooth and the color of white-ash. Older trees have bark that’s nearly black at the base, turning to smooth mottled gray higher up the trunk. Aspen bark has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a highly valued source of medicine for Native American peoples.

DON'T BUY!!!! 1st kit ordered came without seeds to plant. Returned it. 2nd kit came NO seeds to plant again! Returned for refund .

I was exciting for this kit. I live in Colorado and I own property in the mountains and wanted to sprout more aspens for my land because I want more to grow there. I followed the instructions perfectly on these kits and not a single seed germinated / came up. While they were packaged nice and I like the idea... total flop.

It’s a cute kit I love aspen trees! My kit had every thing but the seeds so very sad But these thing happened I will order again I found the seeds they are so tiny my eyes missed them I love this kit

Like many other reviews, I followed the instructions specifically. Left the mini-greenhouse in the fridge for 20 days and had no growth. The perlite turned green with Algae. The kits are 100% guaranteed so I emailed Johnsteen seed co. and they sent me new seeds at no cost. I’m on round two-hopefully they grow!

Even if nothing comes from these seeds the little grow kit device is pretty awesome. Anywho I waited the long 20 days to confused these bad boys that it's not winter anymore and it's time to oblige me with some sprouts! Been sitting in a very hot window for the last week. Hoping someone comes soon.
