The QNAP TS-464-8G-US is a remarkable addition to my home network setup. As an upgrade from my reliable QNAP TS 453A, which has been running smoothly for nearly a decade, this new model has exceeded my expectations.Installation and Setup: The installation process was straightforward, thanks to the clear instructions and web support provided. The user-friendly interface will make setting up the NAS a breeze, even for someone with moderate technical knowledge.Performance and Features: This NAS stands out with its high-performance Intel Celeron Quad-core Processor, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. The M.2 PCIe slots are a fantastic addition, allowing for seamless expansion and enhanced performance. I opted for Seagate drives this time, hoping they prove to be as durable as the Toshiba drives I used previously. So far, they have performed exceptionally well.Network Connectivity: The dual 2.5GbE network connectivity is a game-changer, providing faster data transfer speeds and improved network performance. This feature has significantly enhanced my workflow and data management efficiency.Reliability: As someone who prioritizes data security and reliability, the TS-464 has not disappointed. It has seamlessly taken over as my primary NAS, while my trusted TS 453A now serves as a backup. This setup gives me peace of mind, knowing my data is well-protected.Conclusion: In summary, the QNAP TS-464-8G-US is an excellent investment for anyone seeking a high-performance, reliable, and feature-rich NAS. Its robust performance, user-friendly setup, and advanced features make it a standout choice. I highly recommend this NAS for both personal and professional use.

Bought as a replacement for the other 4-bay qnap that died on us. Was able to boot up, update firmware, then shut down and moved drives over and boot up again and it was all recognized and apps were there.

I just received this NAS, and I'm very impressed. I've always been put off of buying a dedicated NAS because they've seemed like locked down machines. I'm sure that's true of Synology, but I couldn't have been more wrong about QNAP. I'm very much a fan that I can install any OS I want, and that I'm not tied into using the QNAP QTS OS if I don't want to. I fully intend to install something else, and from some testing that seems perfectly possible. I was able to install Proxmox Virtual Environment. QTS seems extremely feature rich from my brief time exploring it, but it just doesn't integrate into my existing infrastructure. One important thing I want to mention: the QNAP TS-464 supports 64GB of RAM. The official Intel Ark page for the N5095, as well as QNAP's specification page, list 16GB as the maximum RAM capacity, but that's not the case. I purchased a Crucial 32GBx2 kit (CT2K32G4SFD832A) and it worked out of the box. Absolutely no issues whatsoever. I was expecting to there to at least be some software RAM restriction in QTS or something, but nope! It is detected properly and works as you would expect. I did a single pass with Memtest86 and it passed, no errors and the RAM was fully addressable.I only have a few complaints:1. Although the PCIe x4 physical slot is unrestricted and can support longer cards, it would appear you cannot install cards that are more than PCIe x8. The metal chassis has a hole where the PCIe slot comes out but the hole only seems to extends back for a PCIe x8 card to fit. I believe x16 cards would hit the metal chassis and not fully seat into the PCIe slot.2. The PCIe bay has no fan. This is unfortunate because I would imagine most people would be inclined to install networking cards, or external SAS cards. Typically, cards like those specify a minimum airflow requirement. Frankly, I would have been fine with a compromise to total card length supported in exchange for a small blower fan to ensure that any PCIe cards get at least some airflow. As it is, I would only feel comfortable installing cards that are very low power, or that have a built-in fan.3. The documentation does not specify the amount of power supplied by the PCIe slot. It likely only supplies 25W, but this being written out somewhere in the official documentation would be preferable.

I have been researching for weeks to make certain this one in fact has two memory slots in the machine. To my surprise, they used one piece of 8G memory in one of the slots. I confirmed with QNAP that only older model had memory soldered on.

To note I've been using home NAS solutions since back in 2002. My 1st NAS (still running) was a Netgear Readynas (4 2TB drives = 6TB RAID5). This was the only NAS that had ever failed me (about 5 years old (I lost a controller card and was unable to salvage my RAID 5). I needed more space and purchased a Synology around 2006 (4 4TB drives for 12TB RAID5). These 2 were enough until around 2020 when I bought a TerraMaster (apparently the new price leader 5 8GB drives for a 32TB RAID5) and my 1st NAS that supported Plex.I've been expanding my digital media library rapidly due to getting a high end entertainment system supporting DTX pro, Dolby True HD, basically all lossless content. This had me maxing out all 3 of my NAS's and I finally decided to get a 4th this year (2024). My primary use is to run a PLEX server with over 1000 movies, 5000 TV shows and growing fast.I attempted to get another Terramaster (to note for same specs as QNAP the Terramaster was $140 less) . I apparently got a bad one and after over a week of trying to set it up I ended up with a brick (restoring factory defaults destroyed it somehow. Having had some issues with my 2020 terramaster, and now with a DOA, I decided to check out the competition. The main options were a 5 bay Synology, 6 bay Asustor, and this QNAP. The QNAP was the 2nd best price and I really wanted to have a 6 bay as I had already purchased 6 14 TB drives. My experience with QNAP has been stellar so far. It has much better app compatibility than Terramaster. The hardware I'm running (6 14 TB drives for 70TB RAID5, 1 TB M.2 SSD for caching, 16TB memory, and a quad core processor make this by far the most powerful NAS I've ever had (which can be seen in the very fast speeds I've observed since)I was able to get this NAS built (added 6 drives, created RAID5, synched the drive, added M2 SSD (1TB) setup for caching, added 8 GB memory to max out that as well. The impressive part is I had all this done in just over 24 hours from the N AS arriving at my house. I have also been able to setup an rsync that will allow me to migrate the data from my 2020 Terramaster (which I plan on using for backups). I will be setting up my new switch (2.5TB) and running the 4 NASs on that going forward with a total of 120TB. I'm hoping this will be my last upgrade for a while.I definitely recommend this product, although my NAS needs are basically pretty simple and all the info needed to get up and running was very easy to find online in a couple youtube videos or guides. The user interface is fairly intuitive and performance like I said is much better than anything I've worked on to date. The TerraMaster does offer a bit higher specs for 20% less, and I'm assuming I just got as bad one, but I do think this QNAP is much better than my current 2020 Terramaster and the one I tried to setup a couple weeks ago.

I recently purchased the QNAP TS-264-8G-US 2 Bay High-Performance Desktop NAS, and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations. As someone who relies heavily on digital storage for both school and personal use, finding the right NAS was crucial. The TS-264 has been a game-changer.Build Quality and Setup: The NAS is solidly built, with a design that's both sleek and functional. Setting it up was a breeze, thanks to the intuitive QNAP software. The step-by-step instructions made the process smooth and hassle-free, even for someone not very tech-savvy.Storage and Expandability: The two-bay setup offers plenty of storage for my current needs, but I love the fact that I can expand the storage if needed. The flexibility to add more drives in the future is a huge plus.Support: On the one occasion I needed assistance, QNAP’s customer support was outstanding. They were knowledgeable, patient, and helped me resolve my query quickly. Conclusion: The QNAP TS-264-8G-US is an exceptional NAS that combines high performance, ease of use, and reliability. It's perfect for anyone looking for a dependable storage solution, be it for professional or personal use. Highly recommended!

Admittedly was a bit gunshy at first with a 3-bay NAS, but it's been a few weeks and I don't regret one bit. I am moving over from a very reliable Qnap TS-419P+ that has served me for over a decade. Key highlights:- Great size - quite compact, although it is somewhat deep.- At first was running a little bit hotter than I expected. It is on the same shelf as my previous unit, but based on the depth the back was only a couple inches away from the wall. I did a bit of re-jigging and pulled it out a bit more to give the fan more airflow, and it's definitely running cooler.- Configured with 3x 12TB IronWolfs in RAID 5 config. I was a bit nervous about a more write penalty due to only 3 disks, but that has not been seen. I can max out and copy a full 2.5Gbps over the network and the disks more than keep up.- Running Emby Server for media services on it and it handles 4K transcoding like a breeze. The CPU is only pegging 3-4% when I do.All in all I am really pleased with this purchase and so far am not regretting going to 3 bay. Maybe down the road it could inhibit expansion, but I feel that's a long way off. Strongly recommended!
