I was ready to give up on the AirSense Mini until I bought this. The machine was constantly waking me up but this has dramatically dampened the noise. With this it’s far from silent but WAY better. I would say 60-70% less noise.

While the muffler reduced the noise from my hose, it did produce a bad odor. Will try and air out and see what happens. Now after 2 days running the odor has disappeared and I have upgraded my rating.

It works in such a way that all it does it lower the pitch of the sound itself, perhaps making it less annoying to sleep with. If there is any sort of reduction in the overall dB value, it would be minimal at best. I'd recommend if you're really really struggling with the actual pitch of the sound, but to be honest I don't think it really makes that much of a difference. It's a shame really, because I don't think there is much else around that would do the job.If you do wear earplugs though, because the pitch is lower it seems to probably annoy me a bit less with this place.Of course to get this to work with the AirMini, I had to modify the setup like one of the other reviewers did. I copied his setup (including cutting the original connector to the AirMini off the original tubing) and it works without a problem. No leaks anywhere

ResMed Air Mini CPAP machine is very noisy to sleep with. You can make it work at a tolerable noise level with a Brevida mask by buying on of these and (2) Portable Universal Connector /Airmini Adapters. There is still some noise at the mask end. Husband says it does not bother him across the bed. Also the Air Mini has no moisture chamber. The solution for that is to buy a Universal sponge cup. (that is a 3 inch clear plastic cup with a sponge. Place this in front of the Air Mini intake. No dry throat or nose. Keep your sponge clean or replace it often. I suspect that it would be possible to inhale germs from a nasty sponge. If I were to do it again, I would buy a Transend mini CPAP rather than Air Mini. No need for the adaptors and they are supposed to be more quiet.

First, if you expect the travel CPAP units to be as quiet as your larger ones at home, give up now and haul your big unit around with you. I have had 3 different units over the years and returned two of them right away. They all are noisier than the larger home-based units.I finally got a MiniAir from Resmed, which has been the best. Unfortunately, to me, it still sounded like a jet plane taking off at night and often was a discouragement to use. I use my Mini when traveling for work, and often, since I am alone, didn't use it due to the noise and I do not sleep as well. With this last trip, I added the Muffler and a Humidity unit. I also got the adaptor for my normal hose and left the travel Resmed mask at home, and used the mask I have attached to my home unit (Perkel). Like magic the system was much more quiet and comfortable. Both the muffler and mask change helped. I highly recommend the muffler for those sensitive to the sound and who use a full mask and not nose pillows.

Can you use this with a CPAP Air Mini - Yes... but... not by itself.I struggled with my Mini because it was like trying to sleep with an F15 idling its engines right next to me and I never could get a wink of sleep. So in a quest to find a solution that was both portable and useful, here is what came up with.First you need to plug into the AirMini. There are plenty of options on Amazon to do this, in the picture you will find one I 3-D printed with a free model that someone put on one of the 3-D sharing sites. Unless you happen to have a 3-D printer, just go with one of the many that you can find on Amazon. The muffler comes with a tube that will attach to both the muffler and the adapter to the Mini. Congratulations you have just connected to the Mini. You are halfway there.Next is the harder part.If you are like me, you want to use the mask that came with the Mini because it has those humidity disks. The problem is that the hose that comes with the mini only attaches to the mini. There is a way around this.Use a GOOD pair of scissors and cut off the factory adapter from your hose.Next, order one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09HV22XHF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1One side of this adapter will connect directly to the muffler. The other side has a type of female thread in it, your hose will 'screw' into this thread and believe it or not will make an airtight and quite secure hold. I was surprised, I thought that it would need some sort of sealant but it works just fine. Now you have your AirMini connected through the muffler and the muffler will knock the sound down quite a bit. Down to nothing.... no, that is too much to ask. From aircraft carrier flight deck to background noise so you can sleep - yes, it will do that. Now if you want to use this on a plane/train/automobile and you don't have an outlet I have a solution for that too.You will need two things:1. an adapter cable to go from the AirMini to a USB-C portand2. a battery with enough juice to power the unit all night long. These are what I am using and they work rather well.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089D4176K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1andhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BV1J88GV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Two tricks you need to know. 1. this adapter has two usb-c ports. You want to use the one closest to the edge, that is the higher capacity port. 2. sequence matters. I think that you need to plug the adapter into the battery first, and then into the AirMini. Do it in the wrong order, you will not break anything but you will get flashing light on the Mini and it will not work until you unplug it and do it again in the right order.Hope this helps.-J

Bought an AirMini for travel and read reviews about the noise. Thought it would be a white noise that I could get used to. Oh, no. No, no, no. It's LOUD and ABRASIVE with every single inhale. It took TWO mufflers and some additional Frankenstein-ing, but my AirMini is finally usable. Here's my setup:AirMini ==> ZephAir Adapter ==> Q-lite Muffler ==> SECOND Q-lite Muffler ==> Regular AirSense Tubing ==> F20 Elbow/Mask, with custom F20 HumidX inside the mask. I put the AirMini on the floor as far away from the bed as the hose will allow and also use a hose lift. It took ALL of that, but huge noise reduction!
