This is pretty much a perfect desk air quality sensor. It looks great, has a user interface polished and easier to use than many smart devices or screens, and you can easily customize the sensors on the device itself. That alone is already perfect but it actually also comes with a great companion mobile app. As sometimes the alerts on the device got annoying for me for things like CO2 which I can't solve immediately, I've turned off the alert sounds on the device and use the app for alerts instead (yes you can get alerts for your device's air quality location through your mobile app anywhere you are).My main gripe is I don't necessarily like to keep battery powered devices always on, so I like to turn the power off and turn the power switch itself off. However the device seems to be very sensitive to when I pull cables out, and often times I come back in the morning to find that the device turned itself on and ran out of battery. I now turn it off without removing the plug or turning the power socket off, but I worry about its affect on the device's battery life.I've not tested having the device run on battery often aside from when it occasionally turns itself on by accident, but since it doesn't last overnight it doesn't seem like it's that long, and you would only really use it portable by turning it on when you need it and off when you don't.

What a disappointment. This is a very attractive device with a very clean interface, an overall clean aesthetic. It's a pleasure to interact with. We were looking forward to having this for many years to better understand our indoor air quality, but it failed in less than a week. Based on other reviews, which I should have considered first, this company needs to up its quality control and build to last. This is the nicest looking monitor I found on the market, and the readings seem accurate, but what good is that if it's not reliable. Ours seems to have been a power management issue as it started to turn off randomly. At first we could get it to turn on by unplugging it and plugging it back in, and finally would not turn on at all, all in the period of a week. Fortunately it was returnable through Amazon so I don't know if they have good customer service or if they would have fixed it. I want to buy another one but not worth the risk.

Overall the build quality is good, however I do not believe it justifies the price tag for this air monitor at all. In comparison to other budget air monitors the figures are way out, not only this is hounds you for updates on the screen only for them to "fail". Overall, it's a nice gimmick machine albeit not worth the hefty price tag.

This has the makings of a great air quality monitor. The problem is the software has bugs and the firmware update process doesn't work - so they can't ever be fixed. Also because of its bugs, it can't connect to the Internet and you can't therefore connect to the app.I could live without the app if it wasn't for the bugs. After an hour I spotted the following bugs:1) It can't connect to the Internet. Well actually it can - it does connect ok to my WiFi and my router shows the device as connected ok and fully working. But when you try and do anything Internet related it reports issues - even though the device reports its connection status as fine.1) You can't set a location for air quality updates as it can't connect to the Internet. If you search for a location such as say London, it just has a spinning circle appear and nothing ever happens.2) It can't automatically set the time and time zone for the clock because it can't connect to the Internet3) The screen auto brightness is way too dim4) Noise detection doesn't work well - showing incorrect values and taking a lot time to spot changes in noise5) You can't connect to the iOS or Android app for the device because it can't connect to the Internet6) It can't download updates to fix issues because it can't connect to the Internet. So all the issues above which could be fixed via an update can't be - because it can't connect to the Internet7) I only used it for a few hours so I suspect there's a whole load of other bugs I've not spotted and which can't be solved because it can't connect to the InternetYou can see a theme here - its inability to download via the Internet has screwed up the device.I actually have 2 other of these devices in white. They did have some issues when they arrived but were able to connect to the app and thereafter perform a firmware update - which fixed all the issues listed above. In fact they work quite well - though not without a few quirks. But at least they can be updated.I can only assume they had a slightly later version of the firmware which was working just enough to be able to do a firmware update. So if you buy one of these devices it's going to be hit and miss as to the firmware version and whether you'll ever be able to update it to fix the bugs.I may come back in a few years time and risk buying another one - in the hope by then they all have working firmwares. But as of 2025 I wouldn't recommend these devices.

I'm happy with the accuracy and build of this monitor. When I check outside air, the PM 2.5 agrees with local Purple sensors, which are pretty good. It uses the same type of laser particle counting cartridge. CO2 is correctly in the 400s. Temperature is spot-on checked against my Chef-Tap. It's hard to know what the VOC means, but it does rise in the basement where it smells a little musty. The sound monitoring is the only thing that doesn't work well. It never drops below 43 dB, probably because the sensor is too close to its internal fan. That's a small quarrel, given that my ears can tell me the noise level perfectly well. The form factor and screen are beautiful, and I'm hopeful it will last a while since the particle sensor is replaceable. The display is crisp and clear, and you can set a priority measurement to be large enough to read at a glance or put it into a clock mode with small air quality displays at the bottom.I was pleasantly surprised that it doesn't need the app at all. It can connect to wifi on its own, with a touch-screen keyboard to put in the password. Connected to wifi it shows hourly and daily graphs and you can set your city for local weather. The automatic time zone setting doesn't work, but it's easy to set manually. It does function off of wifi, but only shows time and immediate sensor readings. The app shows the readings and graphs but I doubt I'll use it much unless I get one of their satellite pm 2.5 sensors. It's designed to integrate into Xiaomi's Mi Home and could probably control connected air filters but that's not of much use in the US. Overall, it's a pricy sensor but well worth the money.

I love this air quality monitor! It seems accurate--I don't have another air quality monitor to check it against, but it certainly matches up with known changes in my air. It was a big help when the Canadian wildfires brought smoke down here to Chicago, and even on an everyday basis, it's nice to know whether my room could use some airing out. It's portable too--it doesn't have a long-lasting battery when not plugged in, but it'll certainly last long enough so you can, say, carry it to another room to see if the air is any different there.
