This plastic adapter has no rubber washer, unlike the brass adapter. Water leaks around it. The brass adapter with built-in washer does not leak.After screwing my attachment onto this and using it (while it leaked), the adapter then broke in half when I removed my attachment. I got one leaky use out of this plastic adapter.Get the brass adapter.

This adapter was EXACTLY what I needed and is much easier on the other components than a brass adapter. But I'm shocked in the price...............this item was $4.99 four months ago and now it's $14.99. No thanks!!

I dont think the fitting would cause it to not have great suction... it sucks water out and refills it just fine however actual cleaning of the gravel or sand in my case... it did a horrible job... when it comes to cleaning Ill use my regular cleaner but for syphoning and refilling... this thing did great

Fits perfectly into my faucet & siphon. I got my siphon for my aquarium so long ago that I don't even remember what brand I purchased. My original adapter's threads got worn out. It looked like this one was similar and I'd try it. Glad I did because it works perfectly.

Installed properly and easily but my water pressure causes it's a pop off the fine threading. By the brass one.

Somehow the brass unit never worked properly. This plastic adapter does the trick. For the first time in over a year the 30 gallon tank in breakfast nock was cleaned according to the Python way of processing withOUT spilling water all over the floor. Have no idea as to whether or not it holds up as well to add water as I don’t add tap water to the tank.

Fits well w my Python fish tank hose. Was happy to find I was able to buy the replacement adaptor w/o having to buy another hose altogether. Python fish tank hose has been a lifesaver when it comes to cleaning my fishtanks - I've used them for years & have been very happy with the quality (although I wish the adaptor that attaches to the sink wasn't all plastic; will often damage easily when screwed into the faucet too tight)
