My nephew had been wanting to try out playing the guitar for a while so I bought him this set for his birthday. It is a nice instrument to pick up and pluck at for beginners or even advanced users. My teenager was demonstrating some tunes to him on it and it sounded nice, inspiring my nephew to start learning a few chords already. The guitar required tuning on arrival, but the included tuner made doing that easy. The set includes everything one needs to get started. It seems to keep its tune well and doesn’t need frequent re-tuning. I think it sounds good, it has the familiar warm tone of a nice acoustic guitar. This guitar comes with a lot of other extras, which is an incredible deal for the price, including picks, extra strings, polishing cloth, strap and case for extended storage and portability to lessons. Such a reasonable deal for a nice guitar.

I bought the guitar thinking it would be decent for its price, after I got it the first thing I noticed is that the tubing pegs are stripped and the guitar doesn't stay tuned during a single play sessions and the bridge is actually pulling away from the guitar and is no longer laying flush with the body of the instrument but it's actually only being held on by 2 screws. Not only did I waste my money, now I have to find a specialist that can fix it which will cost about $100 or more. Never again will a buy from Pyle, I don't care if it's free.

To start, I'll say that I do think that this seems like a decent guitar for the price - but, there are a number of things to consider about this guitar / set overall.Positives:It seems to be reasonably well made and it has a great sound. The strings seem fine to start out with, and it has an extra set - I'm certainly happy that I have a backup set on hand should I need! If you're looking for a lost cost entry into the world of guitar, then this could be the one for you. However... this is where it leads into the negatives.Cons:As a new player, this guitar ended up needing quite a bit of setup. After tuning it up, I was really having alot of trouble with fretting. I was having to push down on the strings super hard - and even then, I was getting a ton of fret buzz. I tried to work through it thinking it was just me being inexperienced - turns out that the truss rod needed adjusting, and the action was pretty high - about 3.5mm. No wonder I was having so much trouble! The saddle had to be sanded down considerably, which of course meant that all of the strings had to be removed and put back on to do so.In addition to this, most of the extra accessories don't really feel worthwhile. The tuner I got has a damaged screen, and it is VERY slow to pickup the notes as you are tuning - so I decided to just use an app on my phone instead. The carrying bag has a shoulder strap, I would've much preferred backpack straps, and it feels pretty low quality in general so that's a bummer. All things considered, even if you subtract out the cheap accessories, you are still getting a very good deal on a working guitar. I would NOT say this a guitar for beginners though, considering the amount of setup that mine needed in order to play it properly. If a completely new player got a guitar like mine, I could see someone very easily assuming that this beginner guitar should be set up to play right away. I could imagine a new player attributing difficulty with this guitar to their own lack of experience and giving up thinking the hobby is not for them, versus seeking out someone to adjust it and set it up for them properly, especially if they don't even know that is a thing that exists. I can see a beginner guitar needing tuning to get started - that's a given. But no beginner guitar should be needing truss rod and saddle adjustments out of the box in my opinion.I'm disappointed, but I am also determined to make this guitar work for me so I will do what it takes to stick with it. On the bright side, this has been a great learning experience about how to truly set up and maintain a guitar, so in that way I ended up getting more than I was bargaining for.

I have no experience whatsoever and wanted to start playing. Seems like decent guitar, sounds alright, comes with all the items needed. My capo is ok, spring keeps popping out but over all good price for something to start with
