I purchased at Amazon the Puxyball purifier fish along with a simple room humidifier. There is no information available on what these things are what they are supposed to do. If they are simply tiny ceramic balls with no added chemicals the only thing they will do is absorb some of the minerals eg., calcium in the tap water being used. But absolutely no way of telling if it is working or not working. I also use distilled purified water so there are not any Ca, Mg, etc. minerals in the water. But I will use the PUXYBALLS since they are cute enough to watch and cheap. (FYI I have honors degrees - PhD Chemical Engineering and MBA Booth School of Business University of Chicago.
