This unit is a great solution for our rental properties - it is narrow enough to be screwed into the door jamb between the storm door and entry door. The only issue I have with these (I installed three so far) is that the buttons can be finicky - you have to make sure you press the buttons completely in until they click, or the lock release mechanism will not work properly.

I bought this to hold a spare key for the house. The locking/unlocking mechanism is too sloppy. Once you set the code, it is fairly easy to open the box, but you have to punch in the code again to close it. If you don't push the individual numbers very deliberately and fully, the lock latch won't fully retract making it very difficult to close the box again. When you push the numbers, there is almost no resistance to signal that the button has been pushed "well enough". Too much fuss required and the plastic parts seems prone to eventually breaking. If this is being used for just adults, it's probably fine, but kids would have a hard time with it.

I really liked that this came with a rubber cover. It’s purpose is to keep it weatherproof but I like it to help camouflage it a bit versus just having a mounted key box in plain site screwed into your house. The key box is solidly made of strong metal. The number push buttons are not made of such material but function as they should just fine. Installation and set up were both quick and easy. Well priced. I couldn’t ask for more. Overall: recommend
