Even with the magnification stated I can’t see these old slides I’m going through in much detail. It is easy to use and takes two AA batteries . It will do for sorting out this batch of slides ( many are 70+years old) but if you need to see every detail I would recommend getting something larger with more magnification

We recently were going through all our photo albums and were trying to figure out what to do with the loose pictures when we discovered a box of slides we forgot about. After holding them up to the light we learned that there was some great old memories there, so we searched Amazon for a viewer and found this one. Because we didn't really have a lot of slides, we didn't want to invest in a big more expensive viewer. This one really did the trick. It's small and lightweight and obviously easy to store. We had relatives over (our adult kids that were very young in the photos and their wives) we passed the viewer around and everyone got a kick out the pictures.

We have old slides and it worked so we could see them. It was a little smaller then I expected but that is my fault for not reading the dimensions.It served the purpose I bought it for.Thank you.

Happy to find this great little viewer on Amazon after finding our old 1960's and 70's slides tucked away and forgotten for many years. Fun to get a glimpse of the old days- family and friends- and now with the viewer, the slides are tucked away no more! Sent some slides to my sister who quickly ordered this viewer for herself. The viewer is great quality, works perfectly. Very happy with this purchase.

Porta slide is solid, well made, light, illuminates slides as had hoped for. If you are looking for a slide viewer, seriously think you would be more than happy with this one. Like the idea little ones can easily look at slides as they were originally formatted. Save a lot of expensed as transferring slides is not cheap and you don’t have any concerns about slides being sent out. Highly recommend.

Cleaning out my mom's office we found some slides from my grandmother. We had no idea what was on them, and wanted to preview before we had them transferred to digital or paper. This was quick, easy, and perfect for what we wanted. (It took me awhile to realize that when I put the slide in, push it down and back, it holds it in there while I review.)

but it does the job. The picture is still small, but certainly easier to see than the slide and the resolution is excellent. It isn't something I would use to look at slides for pleasure, but it helps enormously in sorting through old slides to see what to keep, make copies of, etc. It's a sturdy little gadget and very easy to use.
