I struggled trying to detect the level of wood fuel pellets in the bin, wanting to prevent running out of fuel. This prox. works perfectly to sense the pellets, or an empty space, if the level is too low. These are low current devices, but can drive a small, "ice cube" style relay, which can then operate a greater load. The prox. is actually buried in the wood pellets, but when uncovered, sends the signal flawlessly.
