Easy installation, great product. Looks Great in my garage. A must have. I have ordered several boxes of this item over the past year but the last one I ordered wasn’t solid color all the way through as the ones in the past were. Lighter color on the backside and charcoal on the front, makes me wonder why they would change the formula? I would drop it a half star for that, but overall it still looks nice and works great. Just hope I don’t scratch it.

Using this in my home gym. Hard to tell in the picture but it’s a lot lighter color than expected. It did not come with the 10 piece hook set. Installation sucked. It is designed to be put in studs 16 on center for it to line up on each end. My studs were wider and an 8x4 piece of plywood was required for installation so that the trim and each panel could be screwed to the plywood on each end as well as each stud. Installation time was a lot longer than expected. However, this thing is study and strong. It takes so many screws I don’t think I’ll ever move it. I am impressed with the quality of the product but not the color. I wasn’t happy that I needed to buy a sheet of plywood to install it and that it didn’t come with the 10 piece hook set. I would buy these again and plan to do so for my garage.

Installation with the frame was a huge pain. You have to get it 100% perfect. Even then, the corners don't clean up nicely. They should provide glue or something to keep the corners together.

The Proslat system really helps reduce clutter in the garage, by getting things that might be piled up on shelves onto the wall, where it's all visible and within reach.I used about 1.5 boxes to get about 7 feet vertically (16 slats) to go with the 8 foot width. I could have fit one more slat at the top, but it gets hard to get leverage and alignment on the impact driver that close to the ceiling. The slats are sturdy plastic, with longitudinal ribs for a bit of rigidity and strength. On the other hand, the "J trim" for the bottom and sides is a little flimsy - I inadvertently cracked one on its seam during installation. These trim pieces, along with the "L trim" inserted into the topmost slat, are merely there for cosmetic purposes and are not weight bearing, so their relative fragility is not surprising. Some strong advice: 1) A laser level is highly recommended - it's much easier to center the screws on studs; 2) The hardest part is getting the flimsy "J trim" framing on the bottom and sides up at the beginning, centered on studs from end to end, and sides vertical - you will definitely need at least two people to hold things in alignment while you drive the screws in; 3) You will need a #2 Robertson (square) bit to drive the screws in - a Phillips bit WILL cam out. Fortunately, they give you one in the bag of screws; 4) Each slat takes 7 screws - for me, 16 slats times 7 screws is 112 screws to drive in. Get an impact driver with a good battery capacity, and pace yourself!; 5) As you locate each screw, use a hammer to first pierce the plastic, and screw in by hand to about a third of full depth to ensure it goes in straight and has some support in the stud (using an extra Robertson bit in a ratcheting screwdriver helps a lot). Use an impact driver to bottom the screw out. 6) The bottom edge of each slat must meet the top of the hook slot on the adjacent slat below, covering its groove and hiding the screw heads in it. To accomplish this, the lowermost longitudinal ribs of the upper slat must fit above and in the groove of the lower slat. STUDY THE CROSS SECTION DIAGRAM in the instructions, and make sure you understand how the slats interlock before screwing anything in...I can't emphasize this last one enough! As you can see, I added a set of wire baskets, a mesh storage basket, and a couple of assorted hook sets. I was able to hang just about anything: brooms, tools, extension cords, martial arts equipment. It was a bit of a pain to put up, but I'm pretty happy with the result. Very professional looking.

I got this product to better organize tool, etc. in my shop and was very pleasantly surprised at the absolute satisfaction in its simplicity, quality and the ease of installation. Deceptively strong, and once it's in place it is easy to configure and populate many of one's tools, small materials and other things.
