In the skin and hair, propylene glycol works as a humescent, which causes retention of moisture content of skin or cosmetic products by preventing the escape of moisture or water. Propylene glycol is one of the most widely used cosmetic ingredients, as it is a humectant. It is a clear, colorelss, viscous liquid, slightly bitter-tasting. Propylene Glycol USP is the most common moisture-carrying vehicle, other than water itself, in cosmetics. Absorbs moisture, acts as a solvent and a wetting ingredient.

When I received my order of propylene glycol, the bottle leaked in the plastic bag, so I was missing a bit. It had a piece of tape over the cap that reads "helps prevent liquid leakage". Maybe the manufacturer should use a better cap!

This is quality PG. But I mistakenly bought this small 30ml bottle when I was looking for 300ml or so. Regardless I got what I paid for and it's quality is just as good as any PG I've tried.
