I plugged it into my propane canister and turned the dial to the lowest setting. I hear some gas coming out. I lit it and it immediately caught and I could see a yellow flame burning moderately. I press the trigger and the yellow flame turns into a blue rocket-shaped flame, but still only moderate. I dialed it up about halfway and the yellow flame burned more intensely. I pressed the trigger again and the blue flame came back, this time roaring. I turned that sucker all the way up and, like a tsunami just before landfall or the quiet before the storm, the yellow flame withdrew quite a bit and dimmed, barely came out. But then I pulled the trigger. My back is still hurting from being hurled through the air across the room in a straight, horizontal line from where I was standing until I was flattened against the back wall, just like the movies!! Okay, well that didn't really happen, but it might as well have. This thing went beast mode on me right before my eyes. The blue flame was INTENSE! It growled at me! Great Scott, Marty! I like this thing!

I have an older torch and when I was getting this new one I knew what to look for. These torches may have high burn rate so they connect to 15-20lb propane cylinders. You are mostly using it for narrow areas so the less air passages nozzle has the narrower flame will be and the less propane will be burnt per unit of time. Before I was stripping the tank to a small hand truck, but now I use a tank backpack. With a backpack hose should be long enough to be able to operate the wand by left or right hand. This one also has a piezo ignitor. My previous one had to be started with a pencil torch as I burned my hands a couple of times hot-starting it with a small butane lighter. Piezo element is replaceable. Another reason why I needed to replace my old torch is leaking hose. After a couple of winters in my garage, an old thermoplastic hose developed kinks and started leaking in several spots. The quality of this hose is much better. I believe it is made from fiber reinforced thermo rubber. Connectors are made from quality brass alloy. Tank side has an additional o-ring seal. I use these torches to remove small weeds from stone paved walkway, clear ice from granite steps and to occasionally soften asphalt patches if I need to repair a crack or container dent on my driveway.

I had a couple of my raised bed gardens mysteriously start producing nut grass, so along comes this Propane torch Weed torch - for which I removed all the rich, composted soil from the bed and spread out, then used the weed torch to "burn" the dirt to kill all the millions of nut grass bulbs. We will see this spring if my idea worked. The weed burner also worked well for igniting a couple of burn piles I needed to get rid of.I like the weight and fit of this burner - it is comfortable to handle for longer periods of time, as well as the 10ft of "freedom" the POL hose gives to not have to tote the propane tank all the time. Also, having all the controls at your hand grip is nice, compared to a weed burner I had several years ago.Personally, if you have use for a weed burner, I can't see you going wrong in purchasing this particular one.

This propane torch is an excellent tool for tackling a variety of outdoor tasks, from eliminating stubborn weeds in sidewalk cracks to safely igniting large burn piles. It is well constructed with solid brass fittings and a high quality valve system. It gave me a premium feeling right out of the box. The 10-foot rubber hose provides flexibility and allows you to keep your propane tank at a safe distance from the flames, which is especially useful when working with larger burn piles or difficult-to-reach spots. The piezo ignition system is a standout feature, making lighting the torch effortless with just a push of a button. I've had other weed burners where you needed to hassle with an external spring-mounted flint or matches to get the flame started The adjustable flow valve and turbo-blast trigger allow precise control over the flame, whether you need a gentle burn for delicate tasks or a powerful blast for tougher jobs. I found it particularly effective for clearing weeds from my driveway and sidewalks, where it efficiently burned them down to the ground. However, it’s important to note that while it will destroy surface-level weeds, this tool won't always eliminate deep roots. For perennial weeds that regenerate from the roots, you’re still better off manual removing the weed and root with a shovel or hoe.On my farm, this torch excels at igniting large burn piles that I have soaked in diesel fuel. This tool saves me time and keeping me safely distanced from the initial burst of flames. It’s also useful for controlled burns around fence lines and other targeted fire control tasks. The build quality of this tool is outstanding: excellent quality materials and thoughtful engineering make this tool an excellent purchase. The heat-resistant steel components and anti-corrosion properties convinced me that this tool is built to last.If you’re primarily looking for a torch to manage weeds, light bonfires, or handle other ignition tasks, this product delivers on its promises. While it won’t eradicate deeply rooted weeds, it’s not advertised as a root-killing solution—it’s a surface-level tool, and it excels in that role. Overall, I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.See photos for more details! Hope you found this review helpful.
