For the price did exactly what I needed. Magnetic base coud be a little stronger but got it in the right position and was able to get my backlash measurements. For the cost can't complain

After reading the bad reviews I ordered it anyways. Was not disappointed. Not sure what others are trying to do with it but it does what it is supposed to do. Use mine with a rotary chuck to see if everything is rounded before I try to use the laser on it.

Fine for the price. Magnet in the base is not particularly strong- won’t really hold it on vertical surface. Came covered in greases, took a while to clean up.

I used this to set the backlash on my differential today - not too difficult to figure out. The magnetic base works nicely and held onto my differential very well. It comes with a good case so the tool won't get damaged from being tossed around loosely. While I'm not sure how accurate it is, it seemed to do the job effectively to measure the backlash of my differential, so I'm happy.

I'm a post retirement hobbyist woodworker. So my primary concerns are cost and quality. The KHCRAFT dial indicator appears well built and sturdy. As far as its accuracy the jury is still out.However, it does look like it will meet the advertised performance levels. It comes in a very stable and durable caring case and the magnet is very strong. It also comes with 22 additional points for the indicator. I gave it 4 stars because it did not come with operating instructions. At a price under $50.00 usd the manufacturer should have thought that a first time user would purchase this item. That being said Youtube solved that problem. Would I recommend it yes to someone with no experience with dial indicators. It is a good starter device.
