I can't speak to dental applications as I got this as a pry tool for small projects but it seems like it's well built, autoclave-able and is polished well with no rough edges.

This is a nice dental tool. I ordered this to see if it would help to brush a family member's teeth.It is nicely constructed, with thin ends and slightly folded edges. I did find one of the edges a little rough, but otherwise it's all OK. It does help with brushing someone else's teeth, mostly to move a tongue out of the way. But I find it a little too short to comfortably hold for a long period of time. If it was a little longer it would be a bit more comfortable.Being stainless steel, I just wash in the dishwasher after each use.All in all, a good tool for dental work.

The tool will work for me as an average pry bar, though I had different expectations in regards to how this tool was created, both in the materials used, and the method used to form its shape. Starting with the shape, which was not machined(think carving metal like wood) from a solid metal block, but instead has been stamped out from flat sheet metal. The listing's photographs make it hard to distinguish between the 2 processes, but being described as a dental tool led me to expect the superior machined manufacturing method.I'm sure this would be sturdy enough for the gentle biological use in a dental setting, but far less sturdy with forceful prying of any hardended objects, and potentially bending like a dinner fork would, which I've done before. The curled edges help with the overall rigidity, but again, they were stamped this way, so the metal already underwent some structural changes that weaken it compared to one being machined into its final shape.My other concern applies to wet use settings, because this tool is highly magnetic, which means it's either not stainless steel, or most likely it's made with the iron steel alloy instead of the chrome/zinc steel alloy that I consider superior. The iron based stainless steel is very magnetic, like this tool is, and with iron molecules, it will develop speckles of corrosion over time, especially if it's not fully dried after each use. The chrome/zinc stainless steel alloy has very minimal magnetic properties, and is also more resistant to corrosion if it's mistakenly left with some water drops on the surface.I prefer the latter type of stainless steel because of the superior resistance properties, just like I prefer the machine process as superior to the stamping methods. So, since this tool uses neither of the superior materials or manufacturing processes, it comes to me as an average at best. If you're looking for the best, or at least a 50/50 mix like I mostly expected, then this tool won't be the one to achieve victory. Best regards, thank you.

This is an excellentdental tongue, cheek or lip Retractor. The tool is made from high quality stainless steel with a fine and shiny polished finish. The tool is almost 6 inches long and is contoured to comfortably fit in both the user's hand and the patient's dental area. This is an ideal tool to have on hand and will prove to be well worth its' value.Would recommend this to anyone.

Arrived in perfect condition. Build quality feels reasonably good. I didn't get this for veterinary use, but to use as a pry tool, thanks to the thin ends.
