I didn't think spraying my yard with a liquid pre-emergent would work but boy was I wrong. I have been using granular for the past 20 years and even applying it twice a year I would still have crabgrass. This year I haven't had 1 blade of crabgrass and it's Aug 30th as I write this review. I have about 40,000 sq ft and I had enough to put it down twice, once in mid April and again in mid June. As a bonus I added in grub worm protection at the same time. I would estimate the cost of spraying to be 20-25% of the the cost of buying granular and it was so much more effective.

In early March in the midatlantic, I mixed and sprayed the product in woods and on lawn, hoping to control japanese stiltgrass. Now into May, it has worked well. The annual weed has not germinated where I sprayed. Crabgrass also hasn't appeared where spray was applied. It will need to be reapplied, but initial results are encouraging.Lawn grasses -' and other weeds -- appear unaffected.

For the price, I couldn't NOT try this out. Enough to cover roughly 10 acres at the rate I use. I think I'm doing .185oz per 1000sqft three times per year. Once in the fall, once in the spring, and once in the summer. I don't like to use a full calendar year's worth for blanket spraying. I do a lowered rate split all to accommodate any breakthrough I may have when things wear off in late summer. I like to put a little of this down when I'm spot treating to boost any areas that either got shorted or water washed the product away. On spot treat I do .1oz/1000.I included a before picture. That's the result of one full year after two sprays of liquid barricade brand prodiamine at the same active ingredient rate per 1000sqft. Two years before that I got my hands on a half ounce of esplanade 200sc indaziflam that I put down at a rate of 0.09oz per 1000sqft and did absolutely nothing the year after that.If you can afford to buy some indaziflam, you only need to put down pre em once every other year. It's basically magic in a $450 32oz bottle. I think the rate is like 3.5oz per acre. It is hands down the absolute best pre em on the market. No poa, no crab, no cheat, no brome, no dallis, no johnson, no any broadleaf at all for roughly 16 months AS OER THE LABEL. Just do not over apply it and do not use it year after year. It WILL kill your lawn.*EDIT: I upped my rate to .2oz/1000sqft this year and got better results. Seems to work just fine.*
