I have barely used it, but so far it worked great for a single batch of grinding nuts to a fine powder. I also like the ability to remove the grinding bowl to wash.

Great, Quiet, Quick. The only "negative" is if you are purchasing for someone older or with arthritis... it has a fat circumference so it is harder to open for older people with arthritic hands.

This grinder was recommended by a friend who heard me comment on how noisy and messy my grinder had been. I ordered and It is quiet, grinds coffee well and no mess!!!

Product is very nice when it works - quiter than the average grinder. 6 months into ownership the inner cup cracked while tapping it against my fingers to loosen the grinds out. I contacted Hamilton Beach and after much delay and on the second attempt with customer service after first insinuating that I had somehow mistreated the device all they offered was a free shipping code. The replacement cup costs all of $2.99 (with $9.99 shipping for a piece of plastic that weights all of an ounce or two). Why be so stingy? Stand behind your product, especially when the cost would be so trivial.

I use this as a dedicated spice grinder. The result of the first grind (see pic) is just shy of a fine powder. This blend (Biryani masala) contains green & black cardamom, cumin, coriander, cloves, star anise, mace, black pepper, bay leaves, cinnamon, poppy seeds, dried red chillies, turmeric, and chilli powder. Since the instructions state it can’t handle bigger spices such as cinnamon, star anise, and cloves (see pic), I broke these into tiny pieces. This defeats the purpose because I had to first use a mortar and pestle! For an ultra fine powder (what the recipe needs), I have to regrind in smaller batches… not a big deal but it’s an extra step. My guess is a 4-blade design or a more powerful motor would work best.Overall, it’s easy to use, fast grind, with a much lower noise level than the others I’ve used. The best feature is the removable, easy to clean jar. Cord wound underneath for easy storage. I’m keeping it because of these features.

I've had this now for 3 months and I grind my coffee almost every day. It does have an extra plastic top so it muffles the sound of the grinder, but it is not 100% quiet. I would say its about 70% quieter than a regular grinder. The grind itself is good and it grinds fast. It is a quality product, not flimsy. The plastic is sturdy, as are the stainless steel blades. Its easy to work as I have arthritis in my hands. Its easy to clean either with a dish-cleaning wand or throw it in the dishwasher (top shelf) for a deep clean.

I bought this to replace my 10 year old Proctor Silex. Very glad the company still makes these small simple grinders. I like the small size and the simplicity. Another great feature is that everything disassembles and the main bowl with the blade comes out. Make it a ton easier to clean. I mainly use it for grinding spices and it works excellent. I have not used it to grind coffee.

I love the 3 containers it comes with and the quality of the materials. Not silent but much quieter than others I've owned. Love the safety features which make it pretty impossible to injure yourself or run it without the lids locked. The only issue is it is not made for espresso grind as it will clog. I use a classic Italian espresso pot on stove occasionally. But it's great for regular coffee makers.

This is a GREAT coffee grinder! After purchasing two Hamilton Beach grinders that had declined in quality since the last one I owned, and were as loud as airplane engines, this one is far and away the best grinder out there.1. It's quiet. The sound shield really does work, it just emits a low grinding sound - you can carry on a conversation while it's operating.2. Easy to use. The inner lid locks easily and you just place the clear sound shield over it and press down. No fiddly little buttons, super easy!3. The inner metal grind bowl comes right out for cleaning, replace it by just dropping it back in its place. Nothing to snap, totally simple.4. Grinds evenly and fast - about 10 seconds for 2 tablespoons of beans.5. The cord is a good length, and there is capacity to wind it around under the unit. However, since I use it everyday I just wrap it around the grinder - it's not super easy to stow the cord, but the other features outweigh that slight inconvenience that I wouldn't drop the star rating for it!In short, BUY THIS GRINDER! It's an absolute winner!
