These high-quality, short handle brushes have the best point and spring of all Princeton synthetics, making them perfect for watercolor painting. Our brushes are designed to drink gulps of water, paint supple strokes and retain their sharp point and crisp edge. The brush filament is made using varying diameters of synthetic sable fiber for terrific spring, enhanced color-holding capacity and a natural snap. This Princeton Heritage Series 4050 Round 12 is very similar to a Kolinsky. It's a high quality brush for far less money than a natural hair Kolinsky. It's soft, holds water and paint, springs back nicely, and keeps a pointy tip.

While you can get this cheaper at an art store it is convenient to order online. I wanted to work on some miniature watercolors and needed some decent detail brushes. These are not a high end product, but seems to be made well and is nicely shaped. It is working well for my needs.

I purchased this style (heritage) as recommended by Jenna Rainey, watercolor artist and author. I'd purchased another style by Princeton, and the tip quickly lost its point,... although I care for my brushes well. As I go through one of Rainey's books, Ifound her specific recommendations and decided to up my chances for success, and purchased the Princeton Heritage size 2 Round brush. Its terrific and comes to a great point. I've used it daily since arrival.... today espectially. Not as thirsty as some, but it has great spring and hold ample paint for my needs. I'm delighted with this brush.I have only been painting about 6 months, but I see the real need for quality brushes, ... quailty paint and quality paper.Attached is a piece I did yesterday and used the Princeton Heritage size 2 round brush at least half the time. The picture is just practice,.. submitted for reference.

These brushes are great for watercolor. They hold water, as well as, their shape. Ensuring the point holds is important to me and they do.

I am pretty new to learning about painting with watercolors. I have quite a collection of brushes, but this one is by far my most favorite. It is the #16 Princeton Heritage 4050. It have struggled with some of my other brushes, then decided to use this one and even though it seems like a large brush, I can paint some of my finest details. It holds a good amount of water and paint and is springy and I feel like it is doing what I want it to do.. I highly recommend you add this one to your collection and it will become your favorite as well.

Quality brush for my watercolor class good price and customer service* it came bent but was replaced quickly and easily.*Update I dropped my broken brush off at UPS and somehow a return was processed for another brush I did not return ? I did get a replacement but was charged for not returning the #2 brush . If anyone receives a broken brush request a receipt from the Drop off for returns because it may help the return process . The brush it’s self is great.

I bought this very expensive paintbrush to do brush lettering with. I needed a brush that was rigid enough to not splay under pressure, but flexible enough to do lettering. Turns out this brush is way too flexible and fans out with the slightest pressure; and the tips of the bristles are irregular which leaves uneven marks on the paper. This brush was recommended by a social media influencer ... that will teach me to trust them. It is literally 10 x more expensive than some of my cheaper paintbrushes and performs exactly the same. The quest for an excellent small brush continues.
