Does not contain all the parts it says it does. The large, flat gasket for the pump is missing as well as the fuel line pictured

Great pump. Used with my Omni fuel stove. Construction is excellent. Primus is one of the best stoves on the market.

To start, I've got a small stove obsession. I've spent some quality time with almost every version of MSR Whisperlite in the last 15 years, used the Optimus Polaris Optifuel for the last two years, and am now in love with my new Primus Omnilite Ti stove.A big part of that is the ErgoPump. My first real stove was a Primus Himalaya Varifuel, which had a bomber all-aluminum pump. Solid, lasted well. With the Whisperlites, the pump was plastic. Typically not a problem - lots of weight savings, but inevitably, I'd get the pump crossthreaded and need to pick up a replacement. This pump is probably the best designed pump of them all. First, someone had the bright idea that, rather than relying on weights to keep the fuel line on the bottom, they could just angle the way the pump and fuel line came out of the cap. Which is genius. Second, the pump part is extremely beefy. I haven't yet handed this out to the Boy Scouts I generally camp with, but my thought is that it would take a long, long time to munge this up compared to the Whisperlite pumps. The last is the ergonomics of the valve - love the knob; easy to turn and easy to dial if you want to throttle the stove from the pump (say, you're using a big pot with the Ti stove).

Bought this as a more durable and adjustable alternative to my whisperlite universal pump. While it is definitely well made, and it does fit the whisperlite fuel bottle and universal gas adapter threads, it puts the fuel bottle at an awkward angle in relation to the stove. You also can't flip the bottle to cut off flow when it's used this way. I didn't really notice too much of a difference in adjustability either.

I appreciate the fact that I can buy spare parts and service my Primus stove and keep it in top condition.Note that the parts you will receive are not as pictured.Missing items include:1. The fuel hose and brass filter holder (the small white filter elements are included)2. The large flat gasket that seals the pump to the the liquid fuel tank.

After attempting and failing to fix my old pump that had started to leak I had to buy a replacement. It is a quality bit of kit and hopefully this will last another 6 years of regular use. Can't say I'm happy with the price though. Have a look at the spare parts page on the Primus website... total rip off!

If you own a Primus stove which burns liquid fuels, sooner or later you will have to perform inspection and maintenance of the fuel pump since this is essential to the stove's function. Ideally you could perform this task before any expedition, but it would still be highly advisable to take a stove maintenance kit and pump maintenance kit on the expedition, as well as a back-up alternative light-weight stove if you are going to very remote areas.I bought this relatively inexpensive ($ 14.00) `peace of mind' pump maintenance kit for my Primus Omnifuel very recently from Amazon. This kit contains one copy of each of the pump components which are likely to wear and thus require replacement.fuel (sintered) inlet pipeleather gasket to maintain pressure within the pumpone large round, and one large flat profile rubber o-ring/gasketbrass non-return valve with washer, spring and plastic capsilicone greasefull design, instruction and illustrated `fully exploded' components of the Primus Omnifuel 3289 instructions in 12 languages,The instructions show the components of the Primus pump, except where the large o-rings/gaskets are placed. This pump maintenance kit should also be supported by buying the general Primus Service and Maintenance Kit for Omnifuel which containing spares mainly for the stove (which I still consider to be essential), but which costs a lot more money with a rather hefty shipping fee resulting in a total cost of approximately $ 34.00.N.B. The Primus multi-tool is also obtained at a crazy price for what it should cost, and the nozzle cleaning wire on it is not protected and therefore is easily broken. If this happens and the nozzle of your stove is clogged, merely use the spare nozzles from the general maintenance kit! You can also use the larger jet (gas: 0.45 mm) and smaller jet (kerosene: 0.28mm) to work when burning gasoline which should have jet of 0.37mm (and visa versa) which are all provided with the Omnifuel stove as well as its maintenance kit, just slightly compensate using the fine fuel valve!I would however always take an alternative 'NO maintenance required' back-up stove such as the tried an tested light and inexpensive Trangia alcohol stove with an inexpensive windshield/pot support in all destinations (except extremely cold places where alcohol is a very inefficient fuel compared with other (longer carbon chain) liquid fuels):or both in combination for only approximately $ 20.00:In conclusion, I must give this Primus Fuel Pump maintenance kit a 5 star rating since it is an essential `peace of mind' kit and in my opinion is sold at a reasonable price of $ 14.00.The author declares that No Conflicts Of Interest Exist in the review of this product or any product mentioned in this review!
