Your cart is empty.This Defender Security doorknob lock-out device is designed to be mounted directly over the entry doorknob to prevent access to the keyhole only, effectively preventing unauthorized access by key. The durable, diecast cylinder is held in place with a removable O-ring for cleaning the cylinder when the lock-out device is unlocked and open. The cylinder cannot be removed when the device is closed and locked. This lock-out device is often used in evictions, rentals, home sales, on job sites, in-home, on in-office storage room knobs to keep other keyholders out, even if they have a key to the door. It is a quicker and easier solution than replacing the entire knob and lock system on a door while still getting the protection you need. The maximum outside diameter of a round knob that can be secured with this device is 2-7/16 inch.

I recently purchased the PRIME-LINE Key Lock device and have found it to be a solid addition to my home security setup. This lock stands out because of its key lock special feature, which has brought an extra layer of security and peace of mind.The lock itself has a compact and manageable size, with dimensions of 3.75 x 2.25 x 2.75 inches, which made installation straightforward in the desired location. The diecast material feels sturdy and durable, suggesting that it will stand the test of time and use.Aesthetically, the gray color and finish give the device a subtle and professional look, blending well with various door styles and colors without being too obtrusive or out of place. The device style is practical and functional without sacrificing the overall appearance.The package included the lock-out device itself and two keys, which is convenient as it allows for a backup in case one key is lost, or for multiple users to access the lock. The ring controller type is a handy addition, making it easier to manage and locate the keys when needed.While the lock performs well, there are a couple of reasons why I'm giving it four stars instead of five. First, while the gray finish is sleek, it might not suit everyone's taste or exterior design, a choice of finishes would be appreciated. What an excellent yet simple idea for door locks. My father has dementia & I desperately needed a locking mechanism to prevent him from wandering since he just recently started his wandering behavior. The other night he had the front door wide open (no screen or storm door) & he had been outside at 26 degrees F. OMG! I panicked & bc I'm such a light sleeper I felt guilty bc he had left & still didn't hear him. I found him inside thankfully & his beloved dog didn't run away & everything turned out alright but what happens next time? And will I ever get to sleep without having bad anxiety that my father will walk in traffic on the nearby highway or freeze to death. I got these door knob locks in the mail today & put them on the doors to keep him out of the pantry, out of the garage, & out of his old bedroom (where it's so small that it was almost a death trap when he fell twice this past week & EMS & fire rescue had such difficulty lifting him bc no room). I feel secure now that he won't leave or eat something that's toxic or injure himself because he's gotten into something when I turn my back. These are so easy to use & all the keys fit & each one comes with two keys & keys are universal to other locks so if you buy a few of these & lose the keys to one, you'll at least have the other keys. If you lose the keys, order another lock bc they're worth it.

We have very high end, custom door knobs, but needed to put a lock on a bedroom door. We agonized over how to do this without replacing the door knob or putting an unsightly lock on the beautiful, high-end door. This locking device is the perfect solution for round knobs. It's an ingenius device, which makes it impossible to open the door when it's on. There was no mounting and it locks/unlocks in seconds. We were thrilled to find such an inexpensive, simple solution.

Just know that the actual color is a dull gray color and not the shiny polished silver look that's in the picture. I really wanted that shiny look so that it looks the same as the door knobs in the house but I guess not!!!But overall it does work well ... when you put it on the door knob, the handle can't be turned (Although I do wonder if the door could still be open with a credit card like they do in the spy movies, LOL).The lock is also very sturdy and rather HEAVY so please be careful not to drop it on your toes.I recommend it.

I gave this a 4 because the locking mechanism comes out easily , but you can just pop it back in, in an unlocked position and once it's in a locked position it can't come out because of the bar that crosses on the inside of this thick heavy metal. I think the problem is the plastic washer that goes around the mechanism deteriorates very easily , which allows the locking mechanism to come out when it's in an unlocked position.Overall , I have bought a bunch of these for different purposes. The thick metal bar that crosses the inside , when in a locked position , and the thick heavy metal of this outer frame will keep anyone from taking this thing off easily , if at all without a key. Also it's so close to the door itself that it will be awkward to try to get off with out a key!...great for 'roommate' circumstances , or in my case a mother with dementia ( to keep her out of rooms with important papers, etc. !!!
