Do you have vertical sliding wood windows with loose-fitting, worn or missing locks? Besides adding a “new look” to your windows with a fresh set of locking hardware, these sash locks can help add peace of mind by restoring the security features on vertical sliding windows. These locks are typically used on wooden single-hung and double-hung vertical sliding windows. Each lock features a cam-type mechanism that is designed to draw the keeper in firmly towards the lock, providing your windows with tighter seals, better weatherizing, and increased security. They are constructed of diecast zinc and come in a corrosion-resistant, industry standard antique brass-plated finish to match other existing hardware that may already be in the home. Depending on the size of the sash, these locks can be used as singles or in pairs. Each set includes one lock and keeper, installation fasteners and simple instructions. Installation of these sash locks is easy and can be done with a simple handheld Phillips head screwdriver. Other design features include a low-profile keeper, cam-action fastening, 1-15/16 inch mounting hole centers on the lock, and 1-7/8 inch hole centers on the keeper. These sash locks are for use on older vertical sliding wood windows where the checkrails (also known as “meeting rails”) of both the inner and outer sash rest flush. Have not installed yet but it looks exactly like the one that is installed received quickly and I'm sure that this will fit perfectly, feels solid and sturdy.

I use this on my parrot's cage to keep it locked. It is solid, sturdy, and holds firmly when you lock it. I can't ask for more than that.

In a pinch it did the job. Time will tell how the latch will hold up but it was easy to install! Lined up perfectly with my old one I was replacing. Has a tight snug feel when locked. Would recommend it if your in a pinch like I was. When I ordered it I was expecting it to be temporary. It's been a few months since I installed it and I have no plans on swapping it out with the original Anderson window latch.

This is made of extremely lightweight, thin material. I purchased this as a replacement for sash lock whose spring gave out. This is on an older double-hung window, so the lock also serves to press the lower section down a little for seal. The material for this sash is too thin for me to use it for more than anything other than a weak lock.When I say lightweight, thin, etc, I'm comparing it the sash lock that was on there, of ~1974 vintage.
