This is a three inch eye bolt. Eye bolts are measured only by the length of the shank, that is the threaded section of the bolt plus the unthreaded portion as long as its diameter does not exceed the major diameter of the thread. This is a three inch eye bolt, not a five inch eye bolt.

These eye bolts seem good but they do not have a 5" shank length which meams I cannot use them for my purpose. The total length of the piece is 5" with about 3.5" shank length.

I bought these to hang swinging monkey bars under my deck. They have held up great to Canadian weather and some hard use. And they cost significantly less than any hardware store and seem equal, if not better quality.
