I really like how this sends enough power to my doorbell camera. My doorbell camera wasn't listed on the approved list but it still worked. It's cool that you can change the volume and tones. My only complaint is that the doorbell tunes are limited and I wish there was some for different holidays.

Other people's comments saying that the transformer that comes with this isn't powerful enough to run a Arlo Video Doorbell are correct. I substituted this more powerful transformer from Amazon and it works fine: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2TGGFGD (see my comments under that item too).

Taking this straight out of the box and just looking at it you can tell it is easy to install no worry of having to have the transformer for the doorbell especially if you have no idea where it is in your house. This comes with its own. It has 2 different sounds for front door and back door but you can install more then 2 door bells. I have had it for months now and it is still working great. It sits flush up against the roof. And looks great.

I purchased and installed this chime because Ring stated it was compatible with my Ring Doorbell Pro. After installation, the Ring Doorbell Pro worked well. However, the new chime did not chime when the Ring Doorbell Pro chimed. I called this to the attention of Ring, and they sent me a free Ring Chime Pro (no cost to me) and now I have a huge variety of chimes to select from for each of the Ring house chime and our mobile phones.I saw several U-Tube videos of homeowners retrofitting more powerful doorbell transmitters, and related hardware to make the Ring Chime Pro work properly. I spent less than $50 and about 20 minutes to replace and install this new chime. The U-Tube videos boast only spending $65 to $100 and only taking them a half to a full day the retrofit the replacement doorbell transmitters. Therefore, save yourself some money and lots of time.

My old Nicor 18888 wouldn't support a video doorbell (we wanted Arlo to go along with our other home camera system). And since I already had the hole in the wall from the 18888, it just made sense to use the upgraded version, the PRCP2. Same outline and the same wires even. What could possibly go wrong, ammaright? In reading the literature, AS WRITTEN, it stated that it would support 2 doorbells and was also video capable with its 20VAC output. Easy day as I only needed 16VAC. I hooked up both Arlo doorbells and it worked...for about 20 minutes. Then it stopped working; no power to the wired Arlo units and I had power going into the transformer on the PRCP2. I troubleshot this system for 3 days. Even had a electronics guru dissect the transformer. The issue as best we could determine was the circuit board. So I ordered another. And same issue, only it didn't even last 2 minutes. I decided to cut my losses and only run ONE video doorbell camera. I did try to make that work but to no avail. So I ordered another one and installed it today, with only ONE camera.I installed it perfectly as per Arlo installation instructions (each time, I might add) and again...NO power to the Arlo wired doorbell but power going into the transformer.I'm completely over this unit. I have had OUTSTANDING customer service from Arlo. But Arlo isn't the issue. NiCor hasn't answered ANY of my emails. Phone calls go to dead ends. If I didn't already have a gaping hole in my wall from the original 18888, I would have gone totally wireless (and I still may). But to my point of THIS unit and the last THREE I had to buy so I could attempt to make this work, I'd say good luck. I'm glad others had an easy install, but this has been a total pain in the A and I would NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

Purchased this electronic doorbell chime to complete a setup with a Google Hello video doorbell. This product is described to be compatible and I also contacted Nicor's own support by email to specifically provide my intended installation with the Google Hello which they further confirmed it would work. After installing, which is simple and straight forward, I noticed after ringing the doorbell a smell (you know that hot electronics smell). The unit continued to work so figured it was normal. Recently changed the Google Hello doorbell ring theme to Spooky Sounds for Halloween and it seems after a bunch of rings to hear all the doorbell sound options the chime once again smelt, but now no longer works as a chime. No more audio output from it. Second observation is my Google Hello doorbell is still functional which means the output power from this chime to the doorbell is still working.Chime failed in less than 3 months. Not much good without it ringing.
