Pro:+Price for what you get (An second focal plane scope with a very bright red dot thats adjustable)+Upper middle class glass that competes with Vortex glass a tier above+Welcoming entry into the lvpo world thats not cheapCons:-Finding an outside range as a first-time long-range shooter from the city without a membership is hard. I'm zeroing at 25/100 yards and I want to see just what match grade 556 at 600 yards hits act like from my AR-I will eventually buy a first focal plane lvpo when I grow into true precision shooting (I believe) and understand holdovers and windage. More cash spent. There are a few things that I didn't know about LPVOs that have been both educational and just plain fun to get into. First, as a new lvpo user, I needed to understand that the second focal plane optics have different purposes than FFO's. This is NOT a do-it-all optic, but it does have some very giving traits that have made me confident with this scope. The red dot is amazingly bright in sunlight and at 1x, can be used as a red dot sight (even with scope shadow) since I've already trained with red dots for two years now. Zero distortion on the parameter at 1x. There might be some blurring at 6x, but for 340 bucks you have to take some steps back from perfection. This isn't Vortex top tier gear or even Primary Arms top glass. Last, if using on an AR and installing (on any gun), you will need:1.A mount (I picked Aero Precision lightweight mount)2.A torque digital driver3.A small level (I cant remember if the mount of the scope came with one)4. Some gun oil/ bike chain oil (for mounting the scope balance and adjustment in the mount)5. Patience. I had to adjust things several times before it was perfect.6. An outside range to get a true feel of what weather, humidity, elevation and gravity do to your rounds and gear. And to you!Stay chiseled.

This is truly a great scope regardless of the price point. Followed the instructions for a 50 yard zero and it’s dialed in out to 500 on my .300 AAC Blackout.First night out I managed to shoot 4 hogs at varying yardage and a couple were on the run. Clear glass with a great FOV allows for very quick target acquisition. I’m the type of consumer who feels that the more you spend on optics the better the quality, and for the most part, that is true. This scope is relatively inexpensive but the quality is there and then some! You will not be disappointed!!!!

The chevron reticle is very fast to acquire. I wanted an illuminated reticle for my 300blk but wanted something different than a standard duplex with a red dot in the middle. This will be a sub 200 yard gun for me so the 3-600 BDC points weren't really necessary. I keep the illumination off during the day, and turn it on at dawn/dusk or if doing some night hog hunting. I do wish the BDC was illuminated (think the previous version was), but it's not that big of a deal. There is a slight magnification at 1x but not distracting when shooting both eyes open. To me it's really close to a red dot. At 6x the eye box is a little small but manageable. I prefer flip-up scope covers so it's great they were included, as is a spare battery in the windage cap. Overall you won't find another scope in this price point that has the same features or with a reticle as good as this. You can't go wrong with this scope.

I gave this 5 stars because it passed all advertised features and surpassed my expectations regardless of its price range.I typically purchase higher end optics but since I was getting a close to mid range scope for a Mini 30 I decided to experiment a bit. I'm actually very pleased with the Primary Arms scope. Granted the I glass isn't quite as clear as high end stuff but it's very functional and I seen worse on more expensive stuff. The 24mm objective doesn't let much light in darker environments but that's a given. Overall the scope is well built and durable. The reticle is easy to use. At higher settings the red light flares but that's fixed easily by dialing it down. The turrets are firm and click solidly in place, they even have a slip ring. One turret cap has a spare battery which I didn't see in the discription... so that's a nice plusThe only limitations of this scope are the known 1-6x24 optics. The relief is good for the Ruger Mini. So far I'm happy with this scope and it's nice not dishing out more for the scope than the rifle. Would I want this scope for high power, long range rifles? No. But this will definitely have me keeping my eyes open for other Primary Arms products.

I chose this as a primary optic on a Remington 700 SPS in 300 blackout because of the ACSS and BDC for the cartridge. I was really taken back with the clarity and eye relief. Very nice scope! The ACSS is really intuitive and well done. The reticle is bright and easily seen whether illuminated or not. Feels very sturdy and not cheap. Fit and finish were great. I liked it so much I went and bought a different Primary Arms product as it is clear they have a focus on quality. Great option for those looking for a 300 blackout optic!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLe876_6JEQ
