I love the look of this shelf. My birds really look good on it, but it's another thing to shred for my sun conure. The shelf in my ringneck and dusky's cages are still intact. So I bought another one for my sun's cage. He loves it and now that he destroyed his, he's sad. Haha! I'd rather him focus on this shelf, than chew up wood in my house!!

My birds and I love this corner perch! It’s a comfy place for them to hang out, and I like the sturdiness of it. I did not have any of the issues as previous reviews, and I’ve checked it thoroughly. All the individual “perches” are stable and it does not budge. I’ll update if anything changes, but have had for a while now with no issues.

• PRO’s: Price, Size, Overall Quality, Quick Shipping, General item Versatility as it can be used for a variety of small animals and not just as a bird perch• CON’s: Dowels poorly secured so need to resecure in place with a wood glue and ensure glue is not where animal can chew it, Only 1 Screw/Bolt Set per Side• OVERALL: A few small fixes and this is a GREAT buy for the item’s price ($5-6 USD) and SIZE (a Generous 7+ Inches)!THE ISSUE - WHY?, Purchased:I purchased this wooden corner perch for my mum’s cockatiel that for some reason has a bad habit of falling off her perch at night. Trust me, it has a million and one perches inside a cage large enough that she can fly from one side to the other (giving me a heart attack when ever shr dors it!), so I wanted a perch of some sort that gave her enough area to safely perch and not fall if she looses her footing or balance. I reviewed every type of perch item on Amazon I could find from metal wire squares, to pieces of wood 4+” wide, to grinder bars that claimed to be 3-4” wide, to woven nests, etc., until finally settling upon this wooden corner perch. I selectef this item, because the size listed was 7” (seven inches), and it was made up of not a single solid block of wood, but multiple perch type wooden dowels, so the bird coukd easily grab the wood with her feet, and yet the wooden dowels were not spaced very far apart, so she could also rest her chest/body upon the wooden perch dowels without there being a risk of her falling through them. In other words, there should be no way she van fall off or between any part of this corner perch if she stand on any part of it other than the very edge. Yipee!PRODUCT/QUALITY:I have to say, that although I read tge description and knew the product was listed at 7” wide, I was still pleasantly surprised at its size. Many of the other options had negative reviews complaining about the actual/final product size upon delivery. This item listed at 7” wide and it is a generous 7”+ wide! It could easily hold a guinea pig (imho)== A FEW SMALL ISSUES:::1) LOOSE, POORLY SECURED DOWELS:The wooden dowels that make up the pervh are attached with a little bit of glue. What I found was that the wooden dowels that make up the corner perch, have slanted end tips, that should fit into indentions on each side, and then look like they should be glued in olace; however, the dowels really are not long enough to fit/sit inside the indentions on eqch side, so basically, they are just glued in place, which is fine, except the glue used isn’t very strong, so any amount of pressure (or weight) will cause the dowel to break free from its place. I gound this out, because I was trying to pull the tape & piece of brand adertising paper off from the perch and apparently my pulling on the paper’s tape was enough gor the first wooden dowel to break free from the glue holding it in place, and when I examined the dowel, side slots, and remaing perch dowels, etc., it was clearly visible that they were all glued in place and none really fit properly into the side indention slot/grooves like they were designed to fit (being too short and the tips pointed). This was an easy fix thanks to some wood glue (we used it in the slots to fill the slots and give the wooden dowels something to bond with and also hold them in place. I RECOMMEND that any person purchasing this item take the time to inspect, and then reglue any loosely or poorly attached dowels, and then allow the perch time enough for any glue to dry, prior to installation, to ensure that whatever animal that intent to use this perch, will be sure to have a safe perch on which to sit, and so it does not have a wooden dowel break free simply due to its weight, much less standard wear and tear over time.2) SCREWS & BOLTS, Oh My!Within the package, there are (2 Screws, 2 Thumb Turn Bolts, 4 Metal Discs), while the item has 4 Holes (2 holes on each side), and according to the information for assembly, You should put 2 discs on the outside insert the screw and then add the thumb turn bolts to then hold it all in place. While that sounds logical and simple, it seems to me that there should be two more sets of screa, discs and thumb turn bolts, which would obviously make for a more secure perch. As it stands now, you only have one set of screws/bolts per side, leaving a wasted acrew/bolt hole on each side. So, points off for wasting those two existing screw holes on each side, and ab opportunity to make this perch more secure.IN GENERAL:Overall, the item is of good quality, with just a few small failures to plan in its engineering; however, they aren’t anything that can’t easily be overcome and corrected. Once you ensure the dowels are properly secured in place, I think this perch is an EXCELLENT addition to a bird or animal cage. (And I plan to add an additional screw & thumb turn bolt on each side, since the drilled holes already exist)SHIPPING/DELIVERY:Super Quick Deliver!, Ordered on a Sat/Sun and had it on a Monday and with Free Shipping, Thanks! Only complaint is that there was no documentation what so ever within the package, which was a simple Amaxon cardboard built flap over box, which had no packing material; however, the item was delivered in good condition, and sealed in its original plastic packaging, that contained a small paper with assembly instructions on the reverse side of the item’s brand product sales image.

I bought this for my cockatiels, specifically for my senior boys who enjoy sleeping in the top corners of their cage. It's made of a great quality wood and it's very easy to install. Works perfect and looks nice. It's also easy to clean. My boys sleep on it every night since I've got it. The only down side is that my boys also chew on it every day so I'm not sure how long it will last but I'm glad that it's keeping them happy and it's affordable enough that I would buy more replacements of it when I need to. Overall, I'm a very happy bird mom.

I got this for one cage, and it was easy to install and the birds started using it right away. My lovebirds chew on it a bit, but that seems safe considering the quality of the wood. I just ordered 2 more for their other cage!(Update Nov, 2023)I used to really like these, I have bought many over the years. I recently ordered two and they are very low quality compared to the ones I used to get. Problems:1) Quality is lower, glued in perch poles were done so poorly that some popped out before I even received them.2) Pre-drilled holes to use the metal hardware to attach to the cage have holes SMALLER than required. You have to drill them bigger to use them.3) Overall wood quality is not as good, rough wood surface and splinters in places.I used to give these a 5/5. Now I give them a 3/5 at best.

I'm so happy I bought this for my disabled budgie! My little guy has splayed legs (they're very far apart) so he can't perch. When I first got him he'd only hang off the corners of his cage. He looked tired. I tried making the bottom of the cage cushiony for him but he doesn't like sitting there. I purchased a comfy perch and a snuggle hut for him but they weren't instant successes; in fact, he's only been inside the hut once in the 3 weeks I've had it. I felt like he needed something else. I noticed that he started sitting in his food bowl to rest... and would sometimes spend the night sitting there. While doing some research online, I found people often recommended these platforms for all budgies, especially ones with disabilities like mine. And let me tell you, HE LOVES IT. He claws his way around his cage now to get to his new platform and then just relaxes there. He's spending less time sitting in his food bowl and I'm a happy bird mommy.

My conure loves this little shelf, perhaps because the perches are little (a change of pace from the 1" plus average in her space) and placed together so that she can "rest" on the flat surface. It does not take up too much space (sides are about 6" long) in the corner and provides a little spot to hang out near a toy, cuttle, etc. as I change up the cage each week.Nicely made and sturdy, easy to clean with your average Poop Off, and quick to screw on.Something new besides your average, plain old perch...they deserve a little something different, right?
