Product Description

The StudioLive 32SX is a 32-channel small-format digital mixer packed into a 25-fader chassis. The split-fader workflow options let you manage 32 input channels in two fader layers, while still providing access to your mix outputs on eight additional faders. Thanks to AVB, it’s easily expandable—readily networking with EarMix 16M personal monitor mixers for customized onstage mixes and PreSonus NSB-series stage boxes for remote inputs. The 32SX’s 16 FlexMixes can be individually configured to function as aux buses, subgroups, or matrix mixes—your routing options will border on limitless. The Fat Channel processing section employs expandable, plug-in options with vintage EQ and classic compression options on every input channel and output bus. The 32SX also ships with PreSonus Capture recording software, which can be run directly on your mixer or Windows or Mac computer. Record all 32 channels plus a stereo mix of your choosing via USB, to an SD Card, or both for the ultimate redundant live recording rig.

I use this along with a Presonus Network switch Box for my 5+ piece band. I have found it exceptionally capable. It takes a bit of time investment to navigate it well but I absolutely ove using it and it is also a beautiful addition to my setup and present to well. I use it wirelessly connected to the iPad UC app which is great. The touchscreen on the 32SC could be more sensitive but it works. They do have bugs periodically but I have found Presonus responsive in making fixes and updates.

So I purchased Presonus 16.4.2 in 2010. It was FireWire and performed outstandingly for 12 years. When I could no longer update my OS and FireWire was no longer supported by windows it seemed this was the logical next step in my journey. So far so good BUT the learning curve on the networking and USB updates and plugin loading has not worked for me yet. I have a service ticket started with Presonus so let’s see how it goes. I already tracked a single with the console and it sounds amazing. The new preamps have a VR little more warmth and color than the 16.4.2 does, not as digitally pristine. I like it a lot.

I am actually a frequent customer of Personus products, and I recently purchased the Personus StudioLive 64S hardware system in June 2023. I am very pleased with the performance and functionality of the hardware as a stand-alone mixing unit. It has exceeded my expectations and allowed me to create amazing sounds. However, I have encountered some issues with the software that came with the system, StudioOne 6 Artist. I found it hard to set up and test, especially when connecting it to external devices and MIDI. I also noticed that the software lacks a couple of important basic features that I need for my work, such as video import for scoring and music notation software.I have been using Cakewalk by Band lab as my main DAW before buying your system. I compared the software StudioOne 6 Artist and Cakewalk software and found that Cakewalk offers more features and ease of use out of the box. For example, Cakewalk has built-in video import functionality and a score editor that are not available in StudioOne 6 Artist. On the other hand, Cakewalk does not integrate as well with the StudioLive 64S mixer hardware as StudioOne and I have difficulty controlling operations between the deck and the Cakewalk DAW.I was disappointed to learn after some testing, that the video and notation features are available in StudioOne 6 Pro, which is a more expensive version of the software. I feel that this is unfair to customers who buy one of your top-line hardware systems and expect to get the best software at the time of purchase as well. I do not want to spend more money on upgrading the software or use two different DAWs for different tasks. But for now, I may be stuck simply switching between the two DAWs to get the total compliment of tools that I need to get the most of the 64S mixing system.I hope that you will consider this feedback and improve the software that you provide initially with your hardware system. I appreciate your attention to this matter and your commitment to customer satisfaction.
