Much cheaper than ones from tire store. Discount tire was going to charge 65 dollars a piece. Well I got these and they installed them for free and they work great so far!

I purchased a 4 pack for the 2005 Grand Cherokee. Just deflate the tire, break the outside bead, reach in and hold the old one, loosen the retaining nut, DON'T DROP THE OLD ONE WHEN REMOVING IT, install the new one without dropping it, the retaining nut and the metal washer go on the outside, tighten the retaining nut fairly tight, you can only go "tight enough" because you have to hold the sensor in place without it rotating and hitting the rim, DON'T OVER TIGHTEN OR LET IT WEDGE AGAINST THE RIM OR IT WILL BREAK. Refill the tire to the recommended pressure, you probably need to lift up on the tire to seat the outside bead against the rim while airing it up. You definitely need a helper for this, but it is definitely a DIY project. For the Grand Cherokee you need to drive it over 20mph for about 10 minutes and the computer will program itself to the new sensors.

I was worried about purchasing these "pre-programmed" because the cost to install them at the tire shop is another investment. I checked the specs very carefully for my Mercedes w212 (an older model) and hoped for the best. The tire shop installed them and said to drive for about half an hour on the freeway for my car to pick up these sensors and connect. Low and behold they were connected and reading tire pressure by the time I got to the freeway. The only reason I have to take 1 star off is that these need a better washer/spacer beneath the nut. One of my tires now loses some air over time because it doesn't give a tight enough seal.

Careful with them on returns. This was not preset to my car as promised and needed to return. They also tried to not give full money back on my return. This was listed as a fully returnable item yet without Amazon’s help they would have withheld a return fee that was not noted at purchase or on initial return prior to sending item back. It was only after return this was shown. Amazon fixed per the policy of returns.

I bought this product for my Ford Taurus 2010. Amazon said it fits my vehicle. I went ahead had the technician installed them in my tires. They weren't recognized by my car, so I went to a car computer technician to program them. I WAS TOLD THIS IS NOT SUPPORTED BY MY CAR. Amazon wouldn't refund me until I return the product. Unfortunately, installation fees and removal fees would cost more than the product price. So a complete loss for me.
