This has lasted so long. We use it to cleanse the home when moving into a new house, or after certain guests have brought in a bad energy

Ok, so my review is based off of my very limited experience with THIS sage. I purchased it because my little one had claimed to see a "shadow" behind me, and she was frightened. I also felt some negativity in the home. (My own negative thoughts, husband and I arguing, etc.). I spoke with someone who is spiritual, and in fact a legitimate psychic and she recommended that I cleanse my home by smudging. You can Google how to smudge, there's tons of articles in what and how to do it!The Product: You get three sticks, others have stated they are quite small, however, I don't believe you need to burn entire sticks for smudging (even my spiritual friend said it was not necessary). I burned probably 1/4 if not less, of one stick in a ritual of cleansing myself first, then my apartment. If you have a large home, I supposed one stick is just fine, probably still more than enough.I have NO IDEA what sage is supposed to smell like, but I will say this stuff smells okay at first, but then I worried what would my neighbors think of me! It totally smelled like pot to me!! (Not that I frown upon pot users, however my little one was at home with me! ). Despite using only 1/4, it probably was too much because my apartment smelled like burned herbs for an entire day. It lingered longer in my bedroom. I did not enjoy the smell at all...but I didn't care too much because this wasn't a ritual I did for fun or to make my home smell delicious. I did this for a very specific reason .The experience: My little one has not reported seeing anything else in the home, and I honestly have to say that I do feel more at ease mentally. I am calmer at home, I don't feel as much anger. I don't know if this is placebo effect or what, but I will say that after praying and doing the ritual I have a sense of peace in my home.Overall, my intention was to get peace in my home and rid my place of any lingering negativity and i accomplished it using this product.

These small smudge sticks are great for traveling or keeping around the home such as in bathrooms or bedrooms. The ones I received were good quality and weren't musty like some kinds of sage. I believe the "mountain" sage is the musty one and I much prefer the white incense sage for smudging. It has a cleaner feel to me, whatever that means to you. I always use a small propane torch lighter for these wands, I got mine on amazon too for about $10 and of course it's refillable and wind-resistant. As the wands shorten due to normal use and the binding string begins to unravel, I like to re-tie it around an inch below where the new burnt end is. This may be required 3 or 4 times through the duration of the wand. These certainly have a place for use (these and the full-sized wands), but I have to say that after using them so much, I have began using a brass incense bowl with 3 chains and a hook at the top. I fill this with loose sage and light it with a larger propane torch. This is more convenient and in my experience safer to use as I have never lost embers. I have accidentally started fires before with these type of sage wands though, so please be mindful during your smudging. The last thing you want is to be clearing your space and a few minutes later begin smelling the wrong kind of smoke.
