About this item

  • Six feet of beautiful, durable stainless steel fret wire
  • The biggest, hardest fret wire perfect for basses and electrics
  • Six feet is enough for most guitars, comes in 8-inch pre-radiused lengths
  • Great for new building or repair work; creates a scalloped fretboard feel on electric guitars
  • Crown Width: .118" (3.00mm); Crown Height: .058" (1.47mm); Tang Depth: .074" (1.88mm). Recommended Slot Width: .023"

This premium "SUPER JUMBO" stainless steel fret wire is both beautiful and extremely durable, a perfect finishing touch for your special build or re-fretting job! Stainless Steel is just about the hardest type of fretwire you can get, and people who use it say it gives a silkier, smoother feel when playing than does nickel-silver fret wire. This wire set comes in nine (9) 8-inch lengths, pre-radiused on a ~10-inch radius basis, which will help keep those ends down when you are installing it. The size of this wire is as big as it gets, with the widest crown width and highest crown height commercially available from Jescar - see the exact specs below. This wire will fit nicely into a .023 in. fret slot, which is pretty much the standard for most modern fret wires. I also include a 2-page sheet of fretting "do's and don'ts"; to help the first-time fretter get started, at no extra charge! Can be used on electric guitars, acoustic & electric basses, and any other stringed instrument that calls for the highest and widest fret wires. Can also be used on cigar box guitars for a special scalloped fretboard feel. The 8-inch lengths allow you to easily cut the exact lengths you need. Stainless Steel fret wire does take more attention to detail than standard nickel-silver fret wire, and is not necessarily the best choice for the first-time fretter.
Here are the technical specs on this fret wire (see the photo diagram for more info): Crown Height: .058 in. (1.47mm) Crown Width: .118 in. (3.00mm) Tang Depth: .074 in. (1.88mm) * Please note that tolerance on fret wire piece length is +/- .125 in.

Not prevent to 12 inch radius. Super hard almost impossible to install ended up pulling all the frets and throwing them in the garbage because they were useless. This is junk. Don’t waste your money on Chinese crap.

I don't know if I will buy another brand. These are the best.

Easy to work with. Pre bent to 9.5" radius. Tangs look good. Just planted them on a neck I'm building. Filing them down wasn't too difficult. Nice shine on the metal. Will buy again.

Harder to work than nickel but doesn’t wear out. Take your time and don’t wear out your arm. Refretted an sg deluxe sounds a little brighter more alive

Excellent quality, super hard jumbo sized frets, refretted my cheap classical to steel string conversion guitar with them

This is amazingly hard fret wire and I will never use anything else, ever! The dull sound of most guitars isn’t the pickups, it’s soft fret wire! My Les Paul now has a ring to it, and all frequencies are inhanced due to this mod!

Very good product and the price is the best you can get. very consistent. Those weren't that difficult to work with after I bought better nippers. Excellent seller, ships very quickly. This is probably my third purchase and it's, the shopping experience with this seller is consistently good from packaging to shipping and the top quality with very fair pricing.thanks

Best fret wire available. My luthier loves working with it too. I have it on my '70 Les Paul and it plays beautifully with 10-46 strings. Goes right in to a maple neck as well. Use these: you will be glad.

I own a Washburn Taurus T24 bass that is 11 years old and is played everyday. The frets are in need of a good makeover. I really like the look of jumbo frets on a bass guitar and after searching around for the best deal and crown width, I opted for these. I just gotta say that these frets are superb quality. They're stainless steel and have a beautiful shine to them. They are rock solid too. C. B. Gitty did an amazing job packaging these and shipping was fast, took only 6 business days to get here. I will definitely be buying more frets from C. B. Gitty in the future. :)

Harder than nails. Cheaper in the long run. Don't believe the myth that these are difficult to level and dress. Aftermarket neck companies, guitar manufacturers and less scrupulous luthiers try to promote that myth so they can charge more. Use diamond sharpening stones or diamond abrasive paste on float glass. these are not that hard to level and dress. It's worth the effort anyway since you don't need to do it as often.
