Looks great. Too flemisy to use if not entirely supported by the turntable

I'm not enough of an audiophile to be able to speak of any measurable sound quality improvement but it's definitely not worse and it's a little tickle of joy to take a peek at while flipping an album.

The product is okay, but it generates so much static that it comes up when you pick up the records.

Now im not one to think something as simple as going from felt mat to this cork is going to big difference, boy was i wrong put it on my audio technica lp60 turntable and WOW!Clearer sound from high, mids, and bass was just tighter!

I was having major static and dust issues. I tried moving my amp and turntable. Anti static mats. Sprays. Cloths. Brushes. Nothing worked and I would instantly have dust 2 seconds later, literally. This basically eliminated the issue. Negligible dust now, and it looks amazing too.

Just wish I could see it when the records playing. Very good quality with some decent weight to it. I'm sure my records are happier riding on this guy. The ink print looks good too. It's kinda satisfying watching it spin !

Let me start off by saying that I have been into vinyl record collecting for over 40 years. I am going on 56 and started in my mid teens. Over the past 10 plus years I've really started trying to perfect my hobby which means little adjustments here and there to tweek my sound. In the past I never gave a platter mat much thought, but as the inter-web has grown to give us boundless knowledge, I started doing more research. My conclusion has come down to this. Cork and Acrylic platter mats are the best. I'm not even gonna go into felt, wool, leather or silicone rubber. Both cork and acrylic do things very well, depending on the type of music your playing, and are as easy to change as a record. I've found that 3mm thickness is perfect for me. Cork gives you a warm, yet powerful feel. Your bass, drums, deep piano keys, acoustic guitar ect. just have a really rich impression. Acrylic on the other hand, offers a wider sound stage, more pop, crystal clear imaging and clarity. Some times acrylic can sound too hot and some tone level changes comes in to play. I run an all vintage 60 year old tube system with a modern Technics turntable, moving coil cartridge and Klipsch Heresy floor speakers with two 10" Klipsch subs. So which is best? It's really going to come down to your ears, your genre of music and your system. I do believe cork covers a wider range of music from jazz, classical, contemporary, some classic and prog rock. But this all comes down to how the record was mixed and what your ears hear. Again, they are easy enough to switch out and if both mats are the same thickness, no other adjustments need to be made. This is a beautiful cork mat and the ascetics are gorgeous. Sound wise it offers about the same as my $12 cork mats I've purchased. They both dampen and highlight the same. Your only paying for the astetics. It is well made and if properly taken care of should give you years of enjoyment. Make sure to wipe it down before placing a record on it as it does have a lot of particles on the surface which is common on all the cork mats. They come presealed so no other sealant will be needed. They do attract dust and this particular pattern has indentations and small creaveses that will hold that. Unlike acrylics smooth surface, that requires a simple wipe off or dust off with your record brush. My suggestion is to have both mats available and change as needed to adjust your sound to your liking.
