I bought this one after spending time looking into them. I had been using stacks of books that were becoming a safety hazard, so went for this method. After reading reviews about other methods of pressing, and using a method like this, I read that having a washer under the wing nuts would help ensure even pressure, and more importantly, help to stop the wood from possibly splitting. My husband was able to give me some washers, but as this set comes with golden toned hardware, I now have hardware looking washers under the gold toned wing nuts. I"d suggest that the company start to include 4 washers to make it a complete set, other than that, no complaints about the items used to make the press. I did find that while it says you can have 10 layers, by the time I got to layer 8, that was as far as I could go before losing the ability to secure the bolts/wing nuts in place without straining the top piece of decorated wood. I don't think I used fat flowers, so it could be that some slimmer cardboard would have been better, but then slimmer cardboard could affect how the flowers, themselves, press and the end result in how they look. So I'll stay with just having 8 layers to use and keep the extra paper/cardboard for the future if/when the need arises. The individual layers do hold a nice amount of flowers, much more than my book pages could hold. Overall very happy with my press.

This is a very large surface to work with. Nice to press large flowers. Its attractive enough to leave it out while using. Drying a poinsettia right now and it's looking pretty good. Looking forward to summer to experiment with all sorts of little flowers.

This flower press is made from maple, and comes with all the hardware, brass bolts with brass wing nuts,10 pieces of cardboard stock, and plenty of drying paper, also comes with a nice carrying/storage bag,very easy to use, the results obtained from this item was really impressive. Overall really happy with this purchase.

This flower press is very well made and sturdy, very well packaged. I've used it several times since I bought it.The only issue I have is using the cardboard inserts between layers. I understand the idea behind the cardboard however the flowers took on the ridges of the cardboard when I pressed them and were ruined. I layered them paper first, flowers, cardboard and made several layers like that, when I opened it up, the flowers had lines in them from the cardboard so beware on that. Next time I will just use paper, no cardboard in between. Otherwise I love it! MIne also came with instructions but if yours doesn't, simply google pressing flowers and you will have loads of articles, videos, etc. on how to do it.

I purchased this and it initially arrived without the bolts, which are needed to tighten the press. I messaged the seller and they messaged back immediately and sent the missing bolts, also sending me the tracking info - package with the replacement bolts arrived a day early. So - GREAT customer service! It’s a beautiful press, hefty in weight, and the flower sample they sent was a nice touch. It also has cardboard and a few sheets of blotter paper, so you can get started right away. My only reason for one star short of perfect on this review is that there were no instructions or helpful hints on how to dry/press flowers and plant materials. When I saw it had no info, I ordered a book. If this is for a beginner, or a gift for someone who has not yet pressed flowers, a companion book would be needed. But overall, a nice experience despite the missing pieces due to the seller’s quick response/correction.
