This product is always made from locally milled, food-grade wheat bran and is 100% natural bran with no added preservatives. It is coarse milled and ready to go for use as worm bedding.

I purchased this wheat bran when I started raising mealworms, and, although it is much more expensive than the Siemer wheat bran that I purchase from the local feed store, the particles are more consistent in size and it does not contain sand or dust. If you are raising 6-12 quarts of mealworms at a time and you do not have a close source of wheat bran, then this might be a viable option.

I raise mealworms for plant purposes and this bedding is perfect for my needs. The quality is always great when i buy and the price is the cheapest i can find. I've never had an issue with this bedding and my mealworms LOVE it.

I have ordered other brands of wheat bran , but since I started ordering Nutriworms wheat bran ,this has pretty much been it for me . Amazon tells me I have ordered this eight times between August 2021 and April 2024.I like this brand because of the freshness and cleanliness (no foreign matter that I can recall) and the nice flakes. Some others I have tried have a lot of dust, or are all tiny particles . I know that there are probably people who are looking for a smaller,finer size of grain , but I like the flakes .I like that this product seems to be all nice flakes .Someone once suggested to me that finer grains would be easier for the little worms to eat , but the worms seem to have no problem eating flakes . Also when the bran is flaked it is easier to strain it to separate the bran from the worm frass . The flakes go back to the worms and the frass goes into my potting mix . If the bran is powdered well, good luck straining out the powdered frass .As soon as I open the package I transfer the bran to an airtight container, where it keeps very well. This is a reliably clean,sweet smelling product .
