Product Description

Measuring LH on a numeric basis, in addition to basic ovulation testing

Maximize your chance of pregnancy with accurate ovulation prediction. Identify the best time to conceive. Get pregnant sooner.

Dip the test into the urine for 3-5 seconds. Lay the strip flat. Read results in 5 minutes.

Determine your most fertile days

Pregmate ovulation tests detect levels of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) in urine.

Test procedure:

  • Dip the test into the urine for 3-5 seconds.
  • Lay the strip flat.
  • Read results in 5 minutes.
Positive: If two lines are visible and the test line is equal to or darker than the control line.

Positive:

If two lines are visible and the test line is equal to or darker than the control line, one will probably ovulate in the next 24-48 hours. Make love over the next 2 days following the first positive test result to maximize your chances of becoming pregnant.

Negative: Only 1 line appears in the control area or the test line is lighter than the control line

Negative:

Only one line appears in the control area or the test line is lighter than the control line. This means there is no LH surge.

Compare the test line to the lines on the color chart

Measuring LH on a numeric basis, in addition to basic ovulation testing, may provide a better understanding of your LH levels and the timing of LH surge, LH peak and ovulation window.

  1. Compare the Test Line to the lines on the Color Chart. The numbers on the chart represent the corresponding LH levels.
  2. Graph your result on the Fertility Chart and keep track of your LH curve from month to month.
Graph your result on the fertility chart and keep track of your LH curve

Measuring LH levels

Low: Test Line is lighter than line 25 on the color chart.

High: If Test Line is similar to or darker than line 25, your LH is nearing a surge or surging. Most women at this concentration will ovulate within the next 48 hours.

Peak: If Test Line is darker than line 40, your LH is nearing its highest levels.

I started my natural family planning journey a little over a year ago after determining that I needed a break from hormonal birth control (and my husband and I were in a position where we would be happy even if we failed at it). Over the course of the year I took LOTS of Pregmate’s ovulation (and pregnancy) tests. As far as usage goes, they’re pretty straightforward. Dip, wait, and see. Through my use of them, I did find myself dipping it longer than the instructed time (about 10s or until I saw the ink start to move). I think out of the nearly 200 tests I took, only one may have been faulty (the test didn’t process, though it’s possible I didn’t keep it dipping for long enough). I’ll admit, while the tests do work, they are a bit hard to read and judge for myself (at least individually day to day) even with the provided guide book. As such I used the tests in conjunction with the Premom app which allowed me to scan the ovulation tests. The app then would review the image and generate a number relative to the strength of the lines. Through the use of both, I was able to confidently learn my cycle, and transition to trying. I can now happily say I’m 28 weeks along, and will certainly start using Pregmate again in a few months.

UPDATE: these are completely useless. First couple of issues I thought might be a quality control issue given it’s a pack of 100, but over a week in, I’ve had 9/10 of these strips be completely useless. Dye stops in the middle of the strip, runs toward top and bottom edges, or just doesn’t even come close to creating a strong line—control or otherwise. How could anyone possible predict ovulation with these?? 100% returning.Original: I’d been using a different brand for a few months but ordered these because I could use my FSA funds for it. I dipped both of these sticks in the same sample for the same amount of time this morning. The Pregmate control line is so faint. The test line is about the same on both tests, but the faintness of the control makes it harder for me to read the difference to determine the LH level. The other brand has a much more defined contrast which makes reading it easier. Just questioning the quality of these over the others given the spotty control line.

I've been using ovulation test strips for 20 years and these are the best value I've found! They work well, they're accurate, and easy to read. Best price compared to other brands I've used.

Love these! Easy to use and read and so much cheaper than getting ovulation test sticks. The results pop up almost immediately and I have compared them to more expensive tests - and the results always are in line with what other tests read. I would recommend it.The quantitative feature is especially helpful as there will always be a second line unless you are just super hydrated. I've always found ovulation tests hard to read/interpret for this reason, so having that feature (and the guidebook they give you to help interpret results is awesome) is really, really helpful when TTC.

Very reliable. I love that this one comes with a line scale that you can compare your line to as I always have a hard time deciding.

Pregmate ovulation strips work well for me. They are sensitive enough to be used in medical IVF diagnosis, so this gives me confidence that it is adding a high degree of usefulness to my determining the Luteal hormone surge in my body. Pregmate pregnancy test strips helped me monitor the slowly lowering pregnancy hormone as i recovered from surgery due to an ectopic pregnancy. watching the 'positive' slowly get fainter and fainter was heartbreaking, but it also made me know that i was safe and that the operation had worked. I am glad pregmate is so sensitive because it really gives us a window into our hormonal systems!
