I have no idea how, but my truck needed parking brake shoes after about 30,000 miles and unfortunately GM being the less than stellar company they are, would not replace them under warranty even though it was an electronic parking brake that automatically engages and disengages. Fortunately, I was able to find these a fraction of the price and they fit and work perfectly
