I love this Power Watch Dog. Great peace of mind to know the power is good going into my RV and the built in Wifi allows me to monitor when not near the unit. Not cheap but well worth the money!

Nice high quality construction. Provides great protection for incorrectly wired power feeds. The blue tooth interface and metering functions are also well thought out and very helpful for dialing in your RV energy sourcing strategies.

Used mine for 4 years and had no issues enjoyed the Bluetooth monitoring, app worked well, liked being able to check parks power before hooking to rig. Then is paid for itself big time. Had a power outage and when power came back on it sent a surge and "Big Dog" (what I named mine) did its job and took the hit, no damage to RV. It blew its surge protection, and must have taken a big hit, prevented one leg of power coming to RV. I called customer service, and they were very helpful and said even though it blew the surge it shouldn't be preventing power to the RV, asked for pictures. I sent pictures and they replaced the unit. I now have Big Dog 2 watching over my rig. Highly recommend, you don't need it until you need it.

Great product simple to install and set up. The app is very informative. Gives you tons of information as long as you know what you’re looking at very nice quality. Let’s see how it holds up.

The bluetooth app is a big plus as you can see basic information about Voltage and Power remotely. The unit is build solidly with easy to use handles. The unit LED display is helpful as it quickly confirms the power is on, the right polarities and power is ready to be used. There was a thunderstorm over the RV park with lightning nearby. Even though there were no direct hits, there were momentary brown outs with likely surges. Zero damage in our RV or to the unit.

I absolutely love this product! I am one of those people who worries about everything. I particularly worry about the electrical supply to my RV since it is new and there is so much electronic controls in this camper. I absolutely love the fact and ease of use the app is to monitor power inside the camper. The app is very easy to use and provides vital and I feel, interesting information. I know how every electrical device in my camper is using at all times. From a single lamp right up to the power hungry air conditioner. I know voltage coming off the post, wats and amp usage. It will also keep track of my kw usage if I am paying for electricity separately. The Watch dog itself is simply plug and play. Nothing else is needed. The unit comes with a way to secure the device to the pole but I have not found an effective way to do so yet. Overall, if you like to know what’s going on electrically in your RV, the Watchdog is a must. One note of caution! Hughes Autoforners has a lot of products to protect your RV electrical systems. I drank the Koolaid and am in pretty deep now. No regrets!!! Just gets expensive. The Watchdog is an excellent piece if mind addition and I highly recommend it.

This surge protector is heavy and looks durable. My husband says it was easy to hook up and works great. We purchased for our hookup at the RV park and there is no noise and it does the job. There is a dog face that will light up red if there is a problem. I’m not sure if it actually saves power, but you can monitor the power through the blue tooth app. Great purchase.

Perfect for use on a standby portable generator that doesn’t have wattage or amps meters. Updates once per second over Bluetooth so you can monitor your house load during a power failure. Most important, this provides amps per both 120v inputs so you can better balance loads and avoid generator from tripping both breakers off because only one side exceeded generator breaker rating. Also monitors voltage per each 120v side to also help you lower distortion by you balancing house loads across each 120v leg to reduce distortion and led flickering by managing voltages to be close to equal.A little pricey, but priceless in an outage to let you know how much stuff you can power up to the limit of your generator.

I've been reading some scary stuff about AVR (automatic voltage regulation) based generators, and how if/when the AVR module goes bad, it can get stuck "on", producing a very high voltage, or stuck "off", producing a very low voltage. This power watchdog is a nearly perfect solution, with its ability to shut off power in both high and low voltage conditions.I was very impressed with how it performed. I had no trouble connecting my cell phone, and it stayed connected up to 50 to 75 feet (which is good for a protocol designed to connect to your earbuds), and it reconnects pretty easily when I do get out of range. Its not only great for its auto cut off, but also lets me manage the amps I'm drawing from the generator. It does fall short in one respect. That is, although it has a 240V plug on it, the designers seem to be assuming that it will only be used as two individual 120V circuits. I assume RV's don't use 240V, because the device has an "open neutral" protection mode that will disable the device if there is current on the X or Y phase, but little or no current on neutral. The problem with this assumption is that when using a 240V load, there is no current on neutral, so the device erroneously detects a problem with the home wiring. Luckily, it doesn't take much current on neutral to keep the device happy (seems like it needs around 0.5 amps on neutral), which means leaving on a 60W light bulb on a 120V circuit should keep this device on while pulling significantly higher amps from a 240V load. I'm not sure about this, but it seems to work in my short term testing. If the device had the option to disable the "E8" error in environments that use 240V loads, or allowed the user to input the expected 240V loading and auto-adjust its algorithm, this would be a very valuable accessory for home backup generators.

Looks good and the app works good, limited Bluetooth range that’s for sure. I like the idea of a replaceable surge module. The quality looks good but time will tell how it works.

Used this in the two different park's so far and the price is well worth my piece of mind! Plug it in and it quickly let's you know if it's good power or not.. and then plug the trailer in. Your fully protected from surges and low and high surges with EPO.. Emergency power off.. This unit fully protects your investment... Pair with your smart phone via Bluetooth and you can view exactly how much power is coming into the camper. The APP is simple and well thought out. So far I'm extremely impressed with this unit! Oh and the Pitbull face lights up bright at night can see that glowing face from a long ways off.. It'll be white when all is well and red when it's detected a problem... I can highly recommend this if you want piece of mind! Cheers
