I have no way to test them for accuracy, but they seem to work.

I actually requested a replacement, thinking it was reading low, but the second one seemed identical. So they're consistent, if not accurate. Further playing around with this thing has shown me that the accuracy is at least serviceably close, if not right where it should be. I may have just started out using bad examples...This actually came in handy for diagnosing a defective inversion cooktop (it used I have no interest in calculating energy cost, so I haven't played with that. I've only used this to monitor amperage/wattage, and for a $10 item, it's done an acceptable job. I only have a couple complaints. The display is very difficult to read if you're not looking directly at it. If it turns just a little, you can't make out the numbers. I also found that, if you're monitoring a load that cycles off and on frequently, the display doesn't refresh often enough to really show how often the load is active and how much power is being used. I was monitoring an electric smoker (with a PID controller) and smoke generator and I thought for a bit that it wasn't working. Basically the controller was turning on the heating element perfectly in between readings from the power monitor. As the two items de-synchronized (with the load from the smoke generator being a constant baseline), I first started to see partial fluctuations in the readings and then eventually readings of the full amount of current being used. I also witnessed cycling with the inversion cooker on the lower settings. This cycling was easier to see and actually kind of informative, showing that a 400w setting actually used 600w, cycling off and on. Good information to know if you are sharing a circuit between several items!

Good price. Cool blue backlight. Had two fail on me within an hour trying to measure power output of an inverter. I’ll just pretend this was money blown at the bar.

This seems to be working good. First test was an electric heater. The numbers showing on the unit seem to be close to the numbers listed on the heater. Its nice to know and understand eletricity consumption for savings in the bank and our planet!

AMTAST Power Consumption Monitor Electricity Usage Monitor works as it should. The display is impossible to read if you are not looking straight into it. When you get a little off angle to the meter the numbers disappear even with the backlight on. This is annoying when you are doing other things and want to see the effect on current draw. If you can easily get right in front of this to see the display it would probably be a decent meter for the price.
