The screen at the top makes it hard to shake out confectioner's sugar. If you want a light sprinkling, it's fine, but I had to keep shaking and shaking to get as much as I wanted. Okay, I wanted a lot. The plastic cap is a bit hard to get off, but it is a really good feature, which I will look for in a shaker with bigger holes in the top. Returned.

I bought the shaker for powdered cinnamon, because several review said it worked well for that. But it does not. It makes it absolute mess. It’s hard to control the quantity that comes out and you end up wasting way too much cinnamon which is very expensive. Maybe it’s good for other applications, but I don’t recommend it for cinnamon.

I am not sure how long the plastic cap will hold over long run but I suspect quite a long time. Overall it is built well and is perfectly suited for my purposes, being to shake out powdered cocoa with different food preps. Very glad I purchased it. The perfect tool for my needs.

Since I'm being proactive about keeping my blood pressure down, one thing I've done is switch to a product called Green Salt. It's a salt alternative that is very, very fine. I couldn't find a salt shaker that wouldn't dump out too much at once. While this shaker was designed for sprinkling powdered sugar and such, this works great with the green salt. I'm very pleased.

My family wanted a powdered sugar shaker for waffles and pancakes. This is pretty small but does the job! I love that it comes with a lid, so the powdered sugar is protected from dust etc.

I bought this for Diatomaceous Earth application in my garden and I couldn't be happier with it! It's a little smaller than I thought it would be but as it turns out it is just right. You can apply a VERY light dusting with it or you could really coat something quickly. Depends on how hard you shake it and at what angle. Anyway I am sure it would do well for powdered sugar or cocoa too (as it was made for, lol). The lid also snaps on with a positive click and stays on until you remove it. Overall, spot on! :)

For baking bread this shaker is great addition to your tools. You can dust the bread pan with rice four easily with this. You can also use it to dust powder sugar over desserts. You just have to shake the shaker. It won’t work if you turn it upside down. It’s called shaker for a reason.Some have complained about the lid not closing well. I don’t see that at all. Perfect fit here.
