How to use a potato ricer to make creamy potatoes?

When you use it it almost comes apart when you're trying to pull the handle up. It also is flimsy and the parts don't fit together very well at all.

It is easy to bend this thing out of shape. Also, when you open it back up after pushing something through the ricer, the hole plate comes out so you have to reset it each time you want to put something through. If a good ricer can mash 5 potatoes in 30 seconds, expect this thing to take you 2-3 minutes.
