A rod end bearing, also known as a Heim joint, is a mechanical articulating joint. Such joints are used on the ends of control rods, steering links, tie rods, or anywhere a precision articulating joint is required, and where a clevis end. The advantage is that the ball insert permits the rod or bolt passing through it to be misaligned to a limited degree.

These are really good quality and they come with the addition of a jam nut that I have never seen before and had to go and find one the right size nut from somewhere . These fit the hydraulic steering system on my boat perfectly and they are an easy change over, the bearings definitely are exactly the same as the ones that came off and from memory I’m sure they cost significantly more than these ones so I’m really happy with both the quality and price 👍👍👍😁😁😁

These 8mm rod end bearings seem reasonable quality to me, the casting, machining and finish are all clean, and the brass bushes came pre lubricated with a light oil/grease of some sort. The threads are very slightly loose (but just very free nut spinning as opposed to properly slack). There is also a bit of play in the rod end, most notably vertical within the bush as opposed to radially. As a result of this I'd say they are not really suited to precision movements, but seem strong and useful enough for general applications.Overall decent enough if the small amount of play is acceptable for your use.

These are really good quality rod end bearings I’ve used various brands of these over the years and I can definitely say that what I see is as good quality as any others except for the price, these come as a pair in the package and the pair is actually less than the price of one as I checked the price with my usual supplier. The fit and finish is very good and I would have no hesitation recommending them 👍👍👍😁😁😁
