I got this IV pole for my cat who has CKD and needs subcutaneous (SQ) fluids administered regularly at home. I have done this for many of my senior kitties, but I sadly now have a young cat with CKD and he's much more animated than my previous cats. For that reason, I really needed to catch him on a cat nap and having an IV pole that I can easily bring to wherever he happens to be is key. This product is really fabulous, honestly. It sets up and collapses with such ease. It even comes with a carrying case where you can fold it up, place it in the bag and fling it over your shoulder to bring with you anywhere. And it's pretty stable with a 500ml bag. The tripod has cross supports, unlike others that I've seen. If you do hang a full 1L bag, you may want to add a counter weight opposite, but that's no biggie for me. I always have at least 2 bags on hand. It makes sense that it wouldn't have a super heavy base or it would not be as lightweight or portable. It is perfect for my needs and I'm so grateful to have found this.

I got this to use when I have foster kittens who need subcutaneous fluids. It is lightweight and easy to set up, plus it's sturdy enough that the kittens can't knock it over if I leave it in the room with them. Perfect!!!

This IV pole is surprisingly steady for a foldable pole. It holds two one liter IV bags well. Unfortunately the hooks poke out of the top of the carrying bag. A bag that covers the entire pole would have been more desirable so I am taking a star off for that. Overall, I am happy with this IV pole.
