The item was easily put together. I do, however, find some fault in the way this and other products like it retain the entire device with only the top handle that slides on and is retained with a single screw. I can not imagine carrying the cage with just the wooden perch on the top handle. I carry this holding both the handle and the perch together.

I advise to not buy from this seller. Missing pieces and the doors do not fit. You will have to return and can not get it back into box. I was late on return do to that and they refused to work with me on even returning and replacing it. Only reason I even give one star is because it makes you

this is probably the worst product I’ve ever bought from Amazon. It’s a terrible design, and it’s missing critical pieces that are necessary for its function. Instead of an actual hinge for the windows, you are expected to use a loose screw just hanging there as the hinge. The pieces of the cage don’t properly fit together. The instructions are practically useless. I could go on and on, but the thing you need to know is that you should not buy this product.

Good for taking fids to sit outside, or at a stay in a hotel when traveling. A bit heavier than I would have preferred, and the water/food cups don’t fit well in the holders.
