This radio has several iterations under the "MD-T26" or just "T26" but they are the same radio, use the same AC adapter, and have the same features and performance. What you'll notice is that you lose FM sensitivity with the AC adapter, so you'll want to use only 4 D batteries. With only the batteries, my FM is strong so that I can get KPCC (LAist) 89.3 from Pasadena to Torrance. AM is terrible, even the strong 640 KFI. If you're willing to use just the batteries and don't need AM, I can recommend this. Otherwise, I can't recommend this radio.

We like this radio alot for it's simplicity, convenience, and clean reception (digital tuning) in our rural location. Claimed battery life (4D bats) of 400 hours is a plus if it pans out. The fact that it has a clock is a bonus. Have used Sonys for years (three of the same model), but first impression is that this radio is equal or better at a surprisingly low price!

Bought this radio to listen while working. It works really well. Sometimes I have to move it to another place within the office, in order to pick up a station, but overall, very happy with this purchase. In fact, we have purchased two. Worked so well in my office, we bought another for the wife's office. Wil probably buy a third to have at home during hurricane season.Update: We love this radio. Did buy the third for the house. Great value for the money.

To begin with, the radio arrived a day or two before the stated arrival date. That's always good. The radio was well packaged, but not so heavily armored in stiff, formfitting plastic as to make unwrapping a major battle with scissors and knife in hand. The item is a bit larger than anticipated, but fits nicely on the bathroom counter. So far, the radio works perfectly in FM with no drift off frequency. The radio also has AM and Short-Wave modes that can be switched using a dial on the face. Tuning is accomplished by a large dial on the right side of the radio. The radio has a surprisingly rich tone that can be switched from bass emphasis to treble emphasis (for voice). The radio runs without inserting four d-cell batteries required for portable use, using the adapter cord provided. The unit does not seem to have a recharge capability for batteries. I have not attempted to run the radio off the battery function nor have I used the Short-Wave or AM settings to any great extent. The radio functions just fine in either mode. Not a bad product for the price.
