Good quality paint that goes on well, it's expensive but if you're looking for durability I think it's worth it.

Exact match for corvette red WA8774. Tacks over quickly, high gloss, steady spray pattern, 6 medium coats covers. Por-15 is an excellent metal coating. Very excellent adhesion and can be sprayed. Acetone clean-up

Sanded these aluminum throat plates and then made sure there was no dust. Safety Red is a near exact match to original. These vintage plates are hard to find.Really satisfied with the results.

I live on the coast in the pacific northwest. Everything rusts here. Everything. This formula has given my 28 year old truck a NEW life. I recently replaced the tailgate and within a couple weeks it started showing signs of deterioration. Brand new aftermarket tailgate, mind you.I was giving a few garden tools a new coat of POR-15 Top Coat even though they are new... (ish) My Honda sprayer started getting some rusty spots on it here and there.... Now it looks brand new again... I looked at the truck and the tailgate... and you guessed it! I painted the tailgate and now it looks like new. It has only been a couple weeks, but in the salt air I am keeping my eyes on the performance of this product. I gave the durability score a "3" star because I want to see it in six months. More than enough time, and I will update this review to reflect thew outcome.POR-15 Top Coat is worth every penny I paid for it and will be ordering more A.S.A.P.I only wish it was available in white!!!!!!

I like the Por-15 because it’s a great product. It goes on smooth and looks professional. I like the black gloss. Great for car parts.

Not what you expect for the price point. Cap plugged after first use. Used the POR15 kit and top coated with this paint and rust showed threw in less than a month.

I bought as a top coat to por15 coating in exposed areas. Haven’t had a chance to evaluate UV resistance yet, but finish is mechanically durable. It goes on reasonably well and the tip stays clear for repeated storage and use cycles. Not gloss but far from flat, semi-gloss finish. Use light coats, crinkles if spayed too heavily.

I've used POR before and painted it on with a brush. It dries to an amazingly hard, durable finish. I was happy to see POR in a spray can and hoped for the same results. The coats went on heavy and the paint stuck and didn't move, no runs, no waves. The paint does give off fumes, take this as a warning. I painted in an attached garage and it ended up stinking up the entire house for 12 hours. The finish was great, the paint was hard and dry in 12 hours. I'll let it cure for a week but so far it looks every bit as nice as the brush applied except no brush strokes.

As with any POR-15 product, this one exceeded my expectations once again.I bought this as a one-step external coating to protect a fuel tank on a 30 year old Japanese mini truck I bought to protect it against further rust damage. All I did was sand the tank down with 120 grit pads with a woodworking style plug in orbital sander to remove any loose paint and loose surface rust and scale. I blew it off after with compressed air, then started laying paint. The coverage of this paint is excellent. Trick with POR-15 is lay it on thick. Don't be afraid, I laid this stuff in a virtual waterfall fashion on a vertical surface and didn't have a single sag problem. Make sure to coat any areas that were rusted heavily with slightly more coverage than smooth areas, this will ensure the heavier porosity of the rusted area gets sealed tight. You want coverage to lay on wet- more coverage than a more satin or "dry spray" condition, if you don't cover it heavy and evenly so the entire part has a high gloss, the paint will have a different appearance when cured in the areas you "dry sprayed." It's just a characteristic of the paint, easy to work around as this paint doesn't develop sags easily at all.One can was more than enough for 3 heavy coats on a tank that I'd guess has about 10 square feet of surface area, and I still have several ounces left in the can.I allowed it to cure for one day before remounting the tank. I wasn't as careful as I could've been putting the tank back in, I bumped and scraped the new finish on several sheet metal edges and protruding bolt ends while lifting the tank back into the undercarriage. To my surprise, there was no evidence of my carelessness. No scratches or chips, this stuff is a serious chassis paint that's extremely hard and durable like POR-15 in the brush on can, but this chassis paint won't age quickly in UV light like the brush on type.Note: this chassis paint also won't fill pits or cover up rougher, rust damaged areas of a part like the brush on kind either. I'd recommend using both products where premium finish is desired, in my case it wasn't necessary.I think the negative reviews about this product may have come as a result of over preparation, it's been my experience POR-15 products work and adhere better on parts that have a rougher surface, rough but free of loose paint and rust, dirt and oil of course. Over prep will diminish the adhesion of POR products.120 grit paper leaves too rough a surface for normal paints to cover up, POR-15 eats it up. It loves sticking to parts that were sanded with very aggressive abrasive.Worth the money! Happy many-time customer. Will use it again.UPDATE: 8-8-16:This paint will lift and peel immediately with gasoline exposure. Doesn't tolerate fuel spills or exposure well at all. Still a great paint for its intended purpose.
