Initially, we really liked this unit. Unfortunately, after only a few months, it is not popping up unless my husband smashes down on it repeatedly (to release the spring), and it won't close unless he slams down on it repeatedly. It's too late for a return so we deal with it, for now. It is a convenient device, just wish it would open and close as intended.

We have a large kitchen island with waterfall sides. So, we were looking for a countertop drop in outlet pop up that was not extremely expensive - this was perfect! It is a manual pull up, fits nicely in the counter and recesses when not in use. The top is black so I placed a wooden fruit bowl over it simply to hide the black top when not in use. It’s been installed and used for almost 2 years now and works perfectly. This is sooooo worth it!

I needed to modify my long-style grommet into something with a larger radius, but I anticipated this up on purchase. Threaded OD is actually a bit smaller than stated, about 2.35" so if you use a true 2.5" hole saw it will have some wiggle until screwed down. Also noticed that at the end of actuation there is slight misalignment between the metal and plastic for the side-channels, I touched mine up with a small file so it's not slowly scraping off bits of plastic from the friction mechanism. These show up as little curls of white as that's the color of plastic inside the sleeving.A single USB port was able to supply 2.3A without getting out of spec, so that's good enough for my usage. The mechanism is quite simple once you see how it works(the spring-loaded outer ring just pushes down so you can grab the center-post and lift up), but presents nicely, and isn't likely to fail either.

I installed 2 in my 1974 retro camper build. To have more counter space I removed the stove/oven and went with an electric hot plate, skillets and microwave. Items can be stowed when not in use leaving counter-top clean. Loved the idea of stowing the plug in's and having the USB plugs to charge phones and what not. It plugs in under counter-top or desk, so cords are hidden away. Easy to install, drill hole with hole saw then just drop it in the hole. Screw the flange on the underside then plug in the 6ft cord and you are done. Don't worry, I have a camp stove for off grid and boondocking. Lol

This unit fit perfectly on a cup holder hole in a motorhome table. Work great and was so easy to install. Removed the cup holder and install this in place, 2 minutes swap. easy access to power from top of table and hide in the table when not in use.
