I installed this on my RAM 2012 3500 diesel. Wasn’t too hard to install and one the gentleman’s (Anne Hepner) showed the wiring colours and that made me the work peace of mind. Thanks to him. And I don’t know about how long it will last. So far everything good.

Seems this is a returned item. In the box there are a lot of holes as well.Do not send a returned item without checking thoroughly.

Gave 3 stars as it showed up in a smashed ripped box! You can tell it was an opened box and put back in and missing instructions. Now with that said it works great. In a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 you are looking for a Brown White line and and Brown Green line wires in back of the driver side kick panel. The Blue wire goes the Brown White and the Red goes to the Brown Green line. Other than sending an opened box as new it works very good!

Worked good for about 6 months. Actuator is no longer strong enough to unlock the tailgate.

This was easy to install and fit like a factory option. Added bonus, it now helps the key operation to stay in place as it used to slip under the plastic lock mechanism.

Great product and worked as described, well made, and is a good value. I am very glad I did this upgrade to my truck, it has made securing the tailgate much easier. It is fairly straight forward to install if you have tools and some mechanical aptitude. Instructions were decent but watching some UTUBE video's helped. Most challenging part of the install was finding the two wires to connect to in the truck - the wire bundle is tight and there is not a lot of room. The supplied connectors need to be pinched shut to assure a solid electrical connection (use pliers to make sure). I recommend this product!

This is a good add-on for earlier models (mine was a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500) and is easily fitted with clear instructions to fit mechanically and electrically. Very useful and a big bonus for security and ease of use.The manner of fitting allows for variations in manufacturing tolerances in both truck and kit. This means it is not a fit and forget item and may need adjustment. This may leave the truck bed insecure as it did in my case, but was easily adjusted to rectify the problem. The warranty is very strongly worded against purchases from 3rd party suppliers (e.g. Amazon), so you basically have none unless you buy direct from Pop Lock, but it is a simple and cheap item so don't let that put you off

So glad I did this. So far so good, hope it holds up over time. Relatively easy to install on Dodge 2012, but the instructions could use a lot more photos than 2. I mean cmon. They also could have supplied more zip ties as you will definitely need more. I tapped in from drivers floor EB line instead of looping through fire wall. Just drilled through rubber gasket. connection wires are there, but they are a separate bunch along the door side above the EB. Not along the floor next to seat, which is the first bunch you see when removing the plastics.

This is a very easy item to install but the directions are confusing. After realizing that the wiring part has given everyone a hard time including me I decided to go about it a different way.You should know that I had done everything else including mounting the actuator and running the wire to the inside of the cab. All that was left was to find the right wires to splice into. This will only work on trucks with 4 locking doors. Basically after hours of trying to find someone who had a picture I decided to pull the B pillar and the rear door panel to trace the wires.I found on my 2014 Cummins crew cab tradesman that there were 4 wires going to the lock actuator. Grn/blu, (2)Pr/Grn and a black. I traced the bundle of wires to the pillar and pulled the plug on the inside of the pillar.I figured I only had to narrow down 4 wires so I started by matching the colors and by luck I found the two I needed on the first try. I chose green to green/blue and blue to purple/green you will see in one photo and when I pushed my unlock button my tailgate locked and everything else unlocked. So in a later picture you will see that it is changed to blue to green/blue and green to purple/green.I then peeled back a little more wire so I could tap into the lines. And tucked everything back into the b pillar. Finally I plugged the connector back in and hit the lock button and everything thing worked as it should. It works great just has terrible instructions.

I bought this for my 2012 Ram 3500 pick up to help prevent tailgate theft. Apparently truck tailgates are now a hot commodity. It doesn't take much or very long for a thief to open the tailgate, detach the support cables on the sides and lift it off the hinge pin and walk off with a tailgate. Replacement can run as much as $3000 if it has a camera in it or an access step. I installed a pipe strap clamp on the hinge to make it impossible to just lift the tailgate out without the extra effort of cutting off the clamp. My tailgate also has a lock to slow thieves down. However, to manually lock and unlock it requires removing the key from the starter/remote fob. A two handed operation. The other drawback was that I had to always remember to manually lock the tailgate whenever I unlocked it when I needed to put something in the bed. The Pop & Lock fit the bill. Installation was fairly easy. Only difficult part was running the wire into the cab of the truck and splicing it to the door lock wires. On-line videos showing how to do install can be found. This is much more convenient and secure. I don't have to wonder if I remembered to lock it and unlocking it is as easy as pressing a button. It won't stop a determined thief from unscrewing the access panel to the lock mechanism and unlocking the tailgate, removing the strap and stealing the tailgate. But it will sure slow him down to where this will never be a theft of opportunity.

I have a 2012 Ram 1500 and so does my neighbor. His tailgate was stolen right off his truck in his driveway because he got tired of manually locking and unlocking it with the extra key that Dodge provides. This was the perfect solution to our problem. It was very easy to install and works every time by locking and unlocking with my doors via the key fob. The only problem I ran after installing was that I could get it to unlock, but not lock. So I contacted the manufacturer. They instructed me to re-terminate the two wires to the side that locks, on the wires behind my kick plate in the cab. After doing this it has worked perfectly every since. The installation took me less than an hour and the instructions were very easy to follow.
