I purchased this fountain to raise the alkalinity level in my recently refilled in-ground pool. It has Hayward "eyeball" pool jets and the adapter supplied with this fountain fit perfectly.HOWEVER, the supplied plastic tool that is supposed to be used for disassembling the original jet fitting is not up to the task. It's soft, bends easily, and would not budge my jets. I ended up making a crude tool out of a piece of scrap steel to mimic the plastic one supplied with the kit and the jet came out easily. It's the tool, not how tight my jet was.But the fountain then installed easily. I'm not sure what the complaints are about the instructions. I was able to easily assemble, install, and adjust the fountain (once the original jet was removed).I ran it for a week and got the alkalinity to the proper range without more expensive chemicals. I was then able to easily adjust the PH back to normal.I would have given Five Stars except for the tool issue. I'd buy again.

A family member purchased one of these for their pool and it works very well. We attempted to install one on our pool but are unable to as our return jets are the push-in type. If your return jets do not have a cover that unscrews to reveal the rotating nozzle (eyeball), this product will not be compatible with your pool either.If you do have the screw-in type, I'm sure you will have a better shot at satisfaction.

GREAT product !!!! I've had a 15-foot above-ground pool in Phoenix AZ since 2000. Every late July and August the water temperature stays about 95F in the afternoons, as our daytime highs are like 115F and early morning lows above 90F. I googled to see how to make an aerator for an above ground pool and came upon this one. My pool has a sand filter (about 50 lbs of sand) and a 0.75hp pump. My pool has a Hayward return, and I did not need the supplied adapter. Everything went together readily in under 10 minutes (amazingly: instructions were included, somewhat rare these days) with no tools. The instructions did not address how to rotate the return valve to adjust how far out the water sprays (remainder exits into pool as it did before installing this) but that was easy to figure out. The unit looks just like in the picture, so I'm not adding a photo. All that's left is to figure out how many hours at night to run the pump, that will be trial and error. And once I don't need to cool the water as fall sets in, I can simply rotate the valve so all the water goes into the pool just below the surface, as it did before.

When the filter is clean - MAN - these things will spray some water! I originally purchased them to help raise my PH without messing with the alkalinity since I’ve been battling them all season. These did the job in less than a week (taking the PH from a 6.5 to 7.6) without any additional chemicals and also providing a ton of entertainment for my family. They also helped keep the water cooler which given that we’ve had heat indexes in the 100s, was a great relief. We also avoided any algae. Overall, a Great bargain for my inground pool!!

I read the reviews about low flow and volume and honestly, I'm not sure what the folks are asking for. This unit installed right to my Intex 18' above ground with the included sand filter. Installation took 5 mins (and I didn't even shut the pump down to do it).Depending on the bypass adjustment, I can put a 4' high waterfall down in the middle of the pool (9') without any issue. There is no increase in back pressure shown on the gauge. I rotate the bypass ring to create a circulation flow under the water to keep the water moving and put a nice cooling waterfall down about 5' to 6' out.There are 3 benefits.1. Its aesthetically pleasing and relaxing to hear the water.2. It does actually help cool the pool water. I've seen 5 to 8 degrees drop in pool temp. (pool is in Texas on a concrete slab... It will get to the point a hot bath is cooler...)3. It's a GREAT indicator of your filter condition. If you see the waterfall not going as high or as far, check your filter. A quick (and probably needed) backwash and your good to go.

Make sure you know your pump size and know how it will affect the performance of the fountain, I have an inground pool with a 3/4 HP pump I have four outlets that branch from it. With the valve closed on the fountain to increase max pressure it is only about 2 feet high. I kept it because I like the ambiance of the sound it makes splashing on the water but if your wanting the fountain to be really high or reach way out then confirm our pump size first...overall they are a great company and we're very helpful
