My dogs don't really like being brushed but they seem ok with this brush so I think it's comfortable for them. I've used it on my large dogs, German Shepherd & Border Collie, and Yorkie puppies. The nail scissor (Yorkies only of course) not so much. I have a hard time getting it around their nails but that may have as much to do with the pups hating to have their nails trimmed as with the scissors so I only took one star away.
