SUPER Handy tool to have to allow sanding of unique spaces and body panels. The pad sticks directly to a DA that I have mainly for wood work and the sand paper I have fitsdirectly to this pad. I strongly recommend this for anyone in the auto body and wood working world.

Nice, soft interface pad. Mine have held up very well. They are a very reasonable price. The velcro works well and they run true to size. Could be used for a verity of different projects!

If you have to sand into curves these work very nicely. I use them on my kitchen cabinets.

Big help to keep my sander from jumping around and totally worth the purchase in that regard. However, as others have mentioned the loop side of these is kind of like fleece and less like loops, and becomes problematic. The hook pad on my sander was replaced fairly recently and is in excellent condition, and the pad sticks pretty good when you first start using it, but is still prone to shifting a bit when in use. After some use though (probably 2-3 hours) the loop side starts losing some of it's grip and starts shifting much more, and the more you peel it back and reposition it the worse it becomes. The first pad I used probably lasted 4-5 hours at the most and ended up in the trash. The pad was still in good shape, it just wouldn't stick anymore. They work great, but don't expect a long life out of them.

WOW!!For something I had never heard of before I saw it on Amazon when looking for a replacement part for my Ryobi 5” sander this is an absolutely wonderful find! When the hook and loop backing pad on my sander came apart, while I was sanding the 2 x 4 railing on our new deck, I went to Amazon for a replacement part. While looking through the many options I saw this interface pad, curious as to it’s purpose I read the description and reviews. The claim that it worked well for sanding edges caught my eye as I believe sanding so many edges, (while probably not being careful enough), on the railing caused my backing pad to fail.Hoping it might help make the rest of the edge sanding easier on my Arthritic hands as well as on my sander I ordered the $9.99 twin pack.Who knew what a difference something so inexpensive could make....!!I said WOW and here’s why:The pad fits perfectly on my 5”, 8 hole Ryobi Random Orbit sander, every one of the 8 holes perfectly aligned, and stayed on perfectly straight through three hours of heavy sanding.Although it makes the sandpaper a bit harder to pull off because it’s such a great H&L surface I’m very satisfied with the H & L properties of both sides of the interface pad.The cushioning effect of this Soft “Poliwell” pad is just right for a sanding project with many edges. The cushioning allows the sandpaper to curve around the edges while keeping contact between the wood and the sandpaper. The better contact evened out the wear on my sandpaper.I believe the cushioning effect will protect my backing pad but only time will tell on that point. The sander does seem to move more smoothly and does not skip as it has in the past.As to it’s longevity; I can’t rate that because I’ve only used the pad for about three hours but if it does not hold up well I will address that in amendment to this review. All in all I’m totally satisfied with this product and highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you do much contour and/or edge sanding.

I've tried several interface pads and they all seem to separate at some point. I've bought two sets of these because the price is tough to beat. The foam is soft and not up to having the pad or sanding paper removed multiple times. Stick it once and leave it stuck. Try not to change your sanding discs unless absolutely necessary. I have several 5" orbital sanders so I've ordered a few and leave them attached to my sanders with the series of grits I'm using for color sanding auto paint, 1000, 1500, 2000 grit.If you do have to remove the pad or the sanding discs, part the edge of the disc from the pad gently and then work the two apart by sliding your fingers between the two to separate them. The objective here is to minimize any stress on the glue holding the hook/loop to the foam. Grabbing the edge of the disc and pulling without pinning the interface pad down with the other hand will definitely shorten the life span of the pad. When I treat the pads as though they are fragile, they work very well and the results on single stage urethane paint is smooth, clean and orange-peel free and I reduce the risk of cut through on panel edges, contours and body lines. They are a nice insurance policy for amateur-hour DIY restorers like me.
